Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

This is a wonderful car. Ive had it now for a little over 1 month. Acceleration is excellent with the 3.5 L V-6, FAST! The suspension is a little stiff but not overly so. Subsequently handles well, with little body roll, even without the sport suspension. Interior is very comfortable with very supple leather seats. Back is much roomier than the G35. Would buy it again!

Outstanding work done by inifinti to get the coupe out to the market. Interior desing cant be touched, exterior desing is something to drool about.

Elegant refined lines contrasted with aggressive curves yield the perfect GT car profile. Powerful but not harsh - comfortable but not too staid. An effective compromise for those of us who value substance, style and attitude Love the Brembos and the Nav system.

After driving Tahoes for 10 years, I had to buy this vehicle after a test drive. Power and handling are superb, while the cabin is comfortable and quiet. The last time I had this much fun in a car was my 94 Corvette convertible, but now with my first grandchild, I needed a safe car with 4 doors and reasonable backseat space. The frontseats have more room than any other vehicle in its class. The console is easy to use and I can even read all the buttons without my glasses. The Bluetooth handsfree technology works flawlessly, transferring calls from my cellphone into the cabin, when my phone is on in the car. Enough blithering, go take one for a test drive and youll see what I mean.

  • Buy it! You wont regret it! - 2001 Infiniti QX4

Bought it used (3 years old) and only had 30K miles (still on factory warranty). Ive had it 5 months and couldnt be happier with the purchase. Outperforms (by leaps and bounds) brand new suvs on the market today in the same price range this car goes for used now; $25K-ish. Fast, handles great for a 4000+ pound SUV, the ride quality is excellent, luxurious, comfortable, a K&N freeflow intake and removal of rear muffler really make it sound like a 350Z! Cant beat the Nissan build quality. Would highly recommend this used vehicle for those looking at new or slightly used midsize SUVs.

Never a problem and very few cars get the looks this car gets. The rear wheel drive is no problem in winter and I do drive it in bad weather. Just a great great auto for the money.

  • An SUV that does everything really well. - 2017 Infiniti QX60

I am very happy with my decision. The QX60 is very comfortable with plenty of power and enjoyable to drive, whether its around town or on a road trip. I feel the front end "grill" is elegant, yet sporty and has a sharp presence on the road compared to most others.

This car blew me away, the interior, the technology, the power, the whole layout in my view blows away the Lexus GS430 & the BMW 5 series. Very impressed, and very happy with this purchase. Infiniti continues to impress me more & more.
