Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

wonderful car for the name, price, and performance. this car is overlooked and ignored due to poor marketing and small budget. for smart shoppers who actually do their homework and compare options and prices, this car is a winner.--isnt it always true that great bargins are never publicized?

Just traded in a 99 M3, and I have no regards at all.

  • GREAT RIDE - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Ive had two BMWs and two Lexus ES300s and this is by far the best overall ride. The power and accelleration is quick and very responsive...much better than my 2000 Lexus Although the interior is not quite as plush it still is much more sporty and really fits the car. I considered the TLS but it didnt handle the way this car does.

  • "5 STAR BARGAIN" - 2015 Infiniti QX50

Retired after 35 years in the Automobile Business. Researched the QX50 thoroughly before purchase. Cant drive it enough! Its that good! All day comfortable! Wonderful Power and Luxury! Negotiated a great deal! Naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine with 325 horsepower.(No turbo or supercharger to worry about). Japanese reliability. My wife and I just returned from Pennsylvania, put on 1000 miles(24 MPG.) Great through the mountains. We put the rear seats forward for more storage and greater visibility. Dont hesitate to buy the QX50 or to compare it to anything else in its class. 2014 Infinity QX50 AWD Journey. (Moonlight White). OH YEAH!!

  • Hate to go to Iraq - 2005 Infiniti G35

Planned to buy a mustang, till I saw this vehicle. Fun to test drive with the choice of driving in Manual or Automatic (rev is only auto). 0-60 is fast and it redlines at 6400rpm. Have had the vehicle to 130mph and they say it is faster. I had only driven it about 1100 miles before I went to Iraq, but my only complaint is that it does not like to go slow. It seems to have too high of rpms in "city" driving. Very fast pick-up and excellent mpg for this type of car. I averaged 21 mpg (and that was with a lot of playing around). The Bose system is a must. Corners very well, and the seats seem to hold you in place. Safety wise there are airbags everywhere. Overall a GREAT car for the money!!

  • 2nd Skyline - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is our second G-35 (aka Skyline 350GT)My wife has the sedan and I have a 6-spd coupe. The coupe is totally a different car. The comparisons to the 330Ci are fine but this car outperforms the Bimmer. The value and looks are amazing.

  • Read before you buy saftey problem - 2006 Infiniti G35

I love the car BUT< while driving in the rain at 55 mph, the rear end started to spin out of control. I was on the highway in the left lane, the rear end lost control and spun out hitting the rear then the front, could have killed me and my wife. when We came to a stop, the stability control on the dash,by itself went to OFF, called Infiniti they told me not to drive it they would come see it, two months later after no visit, they met me at dealer, they drove it and said they could not get it to do it again. denied responsibilty. Read consumers report they made a good call. Please be careful infiniti wont help you

Coupe auto w/ leather is a nice blend of luxury and performance. Mash the throttle and it launches - quick read of traffic as one moves into warp speed. The exhaust notes are sweet. The car continues to turn heads, but I imagine this will fade as more hit the road.

  • WOW - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have had this car over a year and am still in that "new car love" with it. The 306 HP engine puts out TONS of power, so much it has turned me in to one of those people who speeds anywhere and everywhere. I have driven tons and tons of cars, and have never driven one this fast. As the dealer said, it is a sports car with a sedan body. The interior of the car is equally as stunning as the performance. All of the functions, including the navigation, are extremely easy to use. We love the iPod dock in the center console, as well as the ability to use an external flash drive to import music into the cars memory for playback. The seats are overly comfortable and roomy all around.
