Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • G35 has opened my eyes - 2006 Infiniti G35

I got this car after my 2006 Audi TT 225 Quattros transmission died 3 times in one month. I bought it because I liked the new nissan 6cyl altima coupe. This was just as nice and was a large percent cheaper. I have owned saab, Audi and many other euro cars. For the price this car gives great performance looks and reliability. I put hankook ipike snow tires on it and I have powered through some of the worst new England snow storms this winter with ease. All in all when this car is dead I will most likely get another or go to the G37. I love this car!

  • My Second G35 But Loaded - 2005 Infiniti G35

We had a 2003 in 12-02 and traded it in for a 2005 Coupe because their were more and you could get a little better Price. I wanted the Sport-Suspension pkg and worth every penny. Premium pkg. Aero pkg. The splash guards look great. and it seems all of them come with the trunk carpet. I do miss the 12-volt socket on the 03 that was left of the glove box on the outside. I liked the seats when you let the back seat passenger out and you put the seat back up the seat would go back to its original place. The 05 does not do that. We do not know if everyone knows this but this car is one of the safest cars on the road the roof is like a cage it is unbelievable I have first Hand Knowledge.

  • Outstanding Value - 2006 Infiniti G35

Ive got premium package, performance package and aero package-great value and performance for $40k. Positive comments all the time from strangers. Only wish would be for better gas mileage especially compared to other vehicles in its class, e.g. BMW 330ci. Exhaust note is sweet and transmission is smooth as silk. Build quality impeccable. Kudos to Infiniti.

  • Best bang for my buck! - 2007 Infiniti G35

After owning this car for 11 months, every time I get in it Im reminded that this car is amazing. The handling is superb, the exterior of the lines gives it that sexy look, the interior is purely impressive. I have three complaints, the trunk is pretty small, Im the only driver but when traveling one large suitcase and duffel bag and your packed. Gas mileage is definitely not impressive and I think it should have at least been an option to have integrated driving lights in the bottom grille. Other than those three I would buy this car all over again!

  • A pleasure to own and drive - 2004 Infiniti Q45

Fast, powerful, quiet, smooth, safe, reliable - what more can you ask for? A pleasure to own and drive, this luxury cruiser is highly recommended. Not flashy, but elegant and understated, it is a true "Q-ship" of the road.

  • G35x - Close to perfect - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

This car with a few tweaks could be the top sports sedan, some changes have been made in the 05 model such as interior materials. Overall great value and the best of both worlds with the AWD option that still offers excellent performance. Great car to avoid front wheel drive cars that have 250+HP and resulting torque steer.

  • **Update** one month in! - 2005 Infiniti G35

This car gets better the longer you are with it! Operating the navigation system is a snap and RWD/AWD is a blast to drive! This car hauls around turns and the engine has power to spare so you never have to floor it (unless you want to :D)! The seats are super comfortable, heated seats work very well and interior is durable. Ive dropped my phone, pens and books on the center console and dash area and it still looks flawless. The ride is a lot better once you get used to it but is far from punishing. The BOSE sound system can definitely hold its own. No regrets about picking the G35x over TL and ES330. Ultra reliable car, still no problems. Noise in last review was paper clip in cup holder!

  • Its the perfect car for me. - 2014 Infiniti Q50
    By -

I thoroughly enjoy this car. Its crazy fast, fun to drive and gets 25mpg. Its very quiet inside and has the best sound system Ive ever heard. It has all the fun of a G37 but in classy, quiet, comfortable, luxury package. It feels very solid when you pound it. The handling is superb. I prefer to drive myself so I elected not to get all the high tech gismos. I did get AWD for the Minnesota winters, cant wait to utilize it. Its so fun to drive I already have 6000 miles on it. Try one, youll find its the best value out there. I get complements everyday on what a sharp looking car it is.

Great car. Have over 250,000 miles on it but I have only had to replace the catalytic converter at about 240,000 so very reliable great buy!
