Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • No Better Sports Car for the Price - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

An incredible car with loads of features at a reasonable price, the G35 is a lot of fun to drive. The acceleration is great, and the head- turning quotient is high. This car proved to be the answer to my midlife crisis. In over 15,000 miles, I have zero complaints with the car. I have driven the BMW 3 and 5 series, and I prefer the G35 by far. This car has proven to be the best combination of sportiness, luxury, and value.

  • 330 Coupe vs G35 Coupe - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Had the unique opportunity to test drive over 1 weekend each these 2 great coupes. Amazed how similar and dissimilar they are. Overall performance, handling very close, exterior estetics G35 superior, simply gorgeous. However, discovered the 330 superior in countless "everyday" ways. Briefly, 330 much more compliant ride, smoother manual, interior erognomics and quality far superior, back seat and trunk infinitely larger/better, 15K service intervals vs 3,500 inconvenience. There are countless "little" things to make the 330 driving experience far better also eg tilt AND tel steering, 3 seat temp vs 2, clean dash/console detailing vs hodgepodge.

  • G35 is a great car to own. - 2003 Infiniti G35

I like the performance of the G35, especially at high speeds. It hugs the road and there is no vibrations. It has great accelaration and is a very quiet car inside and out. I also like the styling of the body and its very aerodynamic. The wood trim and leather seats inside make it have a very luxury look. I love this car.

  • Poor Fuel Economy; Otherwise Happy - 2003 Infiniti G35

The vehicle performs well; however the fuel economy in cit/mixed driving well below that advertised i.e. in city driving averaging below 14 mpg.

This is one great car, I owned a 2002 Lexus IS300 before this and that was a good car but this is one super fun to drive auto. The quality and workmanship in this vechile is top notch, i have had a lot of good cars but this a car i truely enjoy.

  • Fantastic car, a couple suggestions - 2003 Infiniti G35

The Infiniti G35 2d coupe is a blast to drive, and a fantastic looking car. The car has a much better visual impact in person than in photos. It accelerates like a rocket (esp with VDC selective traction turned off). Before I had heard of the G35, I had put a deposit on a 2004 Mazda RX-8. After waiting for months for the RX, I talked to a friend who saw both cars at an auto show and loved the G. The G35 has much more torque and has a less lumpy profile, and the engine will probably last longer (given probs with the old RXs).

  • Great but can be better - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

This car is fast but in my opinion not so fast off the line. I had a 04 loaner sedan while sirius was being installed and it felt much, much faster off the line and in general, the engine felt more repsonsive at all speeds? The car needs more technology, its 2005 and it has reflector headlights, no rain sensor. no memory seat,no smart key, no onboard computer unless you get the navigation. By the way the improved interior for 05 is leagues ahead of the previuos generations. This iprovement is why I just purchased the 05 coupe, traded in my BMW. Infiniti are U listening??

  • Disappointed in TN - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

While the car is very cute and handles well it has proven to be a money pit in my opinion. Have owned the car not quite 2 years and have replaced brake pads and rotors twice...it literally eats them - found that out after I purchased, should have researched more! The gas mileage is terrible...around town lucky to get 14-16 mpg...hwy is better at around 22 mpg. Nice car but wouldnt buy it again.

  • WOW! - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

We just drove our car back to Texas after purchasing it in Chicago, for an AMAZING price! We absolutely love it! Was a little afraid of stereo issues, etc. but purchased a 3 year 36k Infiniti Elite warranty for only $1400, so I figured Im covered for that and anything else that might go wrong. This car is amazing to drive, handles all kinds of roads great! It is truly a drivers car...If youre looking at anything else...and we looked at everything else, this is the way to go! Stop reading and go buy one now! Every kid in my youth groups jaw drops when they see it...it is just...WOW!

  • Dont Hesitate for the Infiniti G35 - 2007 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have just rolled past 45K on my 2007 Infiniti G35. Hands down this vehicle is amazing. The G35 delivers exceptional reliability and performance for thousands less than the competition. I am sold on the Infiniti platform.
