Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Amazing Car - 2004 Infiniti QX56
By ccantrell - March 14 - 10:00 amWow, we just bought ours and I have to say, this is an amazing SUV! Infinity did their homework and is going to kill the others in its class. We looked at them all and the QX56 was leaps and bounds above the rest; features, comfort, styling and standard features. If you are looking at a new SUV, go drive one for yourself and you will be sold. Be prepared to spend MSRP. They seem to be in high demand and only a limited number are going to be built each year and of that, only a few are going to be 4WD from what I have been told.

Family work horse - 1999 Infiniti I30
By mmorrell - March 13 - 6:36 amBought our I30 as a second family car 3 years ago to get us back and forth from Boston and Florida to visit family. It had 87,000 miles when we bought it and it now has over 150,000. We have spent $0 on maintenance other than the normal oil changes/tires and breaks ect. Liked it so much we went out and bought a G35.

Excellent SUV QX56 4X4 - 2005 Infiniti QX56
By Happy Owner - March 12 - 11:00 pmWith 3000 miles already,my wife and I are very pleased with the vehicle. There hasnt been one trip back to the dealer for anything. The XM Satelite radio is fine, the Navigation is wonderful with the "Birds Eye View". The gas mileage I think could be better but 14.25 mpg is what it gets. This SUV is Powerful, no problem getting out into the thick of it. The stopping power could put you through the windshield, I had one occasion for a panic stop, (AWSOME)

No More BMWs - 2003 Infiniti G35
By Keithhere45 - March 12 - 10:00 amFinally a car that drives like my BMWs but has reliability, style, and much more value for the dollar. Sure, I have to pay for my oil changes, but for the money I saved, I can buy a lot of them! And the power is awesome.

Great Value for Sport Compact - 2002 Infiniti G20
By Dave C - March 11 - 10:50 amFor almost 1 year I have been driving my G20 and I love this car. Its the perfect blend of sportiness, luxury, safety, and performance. I was looking for a 4 cyl sedan with curb appeal and safety in mind, and it came down to either the Accord or the G20. Im very happy with my choice. 4 airbags, great looks, giant trunk - who could go wrong. I do hear a few squeaks and rattles now and then, and it would be nice if there was more sound dampening inside (you can hear outside road noise fairly well at high speeds). Cupholder is a change tray only. Check engine light came on at 74K miles, was rear O2 sensor. Overall this is an excellent car.

Best car I have ever owned. - 2003 Infiniti G35
By BladeRunner - March 9 - 10:00 amI have always owned small sports cars so this was a great option when I needed something bigger but still wanted something fast and fun. A great long term cruiser, that can also be a racer, and fold down the back seats, and your ready for a trip to Costco or Home Depot. After 2 years of ownership, I still get people who stop me and ask about the car. The service has also been very good. Cant beat the value either. Closest was the BMW 3 series at $7k more. Very few downsides, such as some of the interior quality could be better, speaker placement could be better to.
