Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

This car is really cute. My dad bought it for my for my 17th birthday! Its really comfortable and fun to drive but coffee spills a lot because the cup holder is HORRIBLE. Otherwise, I really have no complaints except for the fact that it needs a lot more power. Also, heated seats would have been nice to have. I hate the way the antenna comes up when the radio is turned on.

Shop between Acura TLS, Lexus es300; compare styles; compare prices; i35 fully loaded without NAV is $4000 less than es300, $2k less than TLS. Inside, es300 is best; Outside i35 stands out. Overall best value : i35

  • Silky Smooth V6 Engine - 2003 Infiniti G35

I had owned many different makes of cars. This car surpasses BMWs engine performance easily (Also includes Infinitis reliability). The length of the car is perfect. I wanted more then what the cramped A4 offers and 3 series too; but not too large to take away from its sportiness. People talk about their BMW, Ive had one of those and you get nickled and dimed to death with them. This is a reliable car with performance.

  • Everything you could want and more! - 2006 Infiniti M45

I tested all the competitors(Lexus, Acura, Mercedes, and BMW). The M gives you the most bang for your buck. Ive got the technology package and it is unreal. No other car has all of the features this came with. Bluetooth connectivity for the cell phone works great. The DVD surround sound is incredible. I suggest the Santana Supernatural DVD for testing this sound system. The backup camera is very helpful for parallel parking. The laser guided crusie control is great. You can watch DVD videos on the front screen if you are in park. This is great for when the wife is shopping and you want to kick back in the car. The power in the M45 is fantastic. You could not ask for more. ENJOY!!

Bought my 07 G35 w/17,000 miles in June 2010 and after MONTHS of researching, reading and test-driving other vehicles. Simply put: Im putting miles on the car JUST BECAUSE I CANT STOP DRIVING IT! Ill find any excuse to jump on and drive it. Superior handling, A MONSTER torque, quality and clean interior, nice leather, excellent dashboard displays, classy style, great exterior, upscale front face, fun, fun, fun to drive! The engine needs a soft right foot or youll spin the rear wheels. AC is gelid cold, xenon headlights gives you clean vision, power seat and driving wheel gives you endless positions, max support from driver seat. Great, great car.

I just bought this car a few weeks ago... The stick shift ie.. Its probably the best car Ive ever driven.. With a Power to weight ratio of 174 horses per metric tonne and a stick shift, this is one blast... the car doesnt seem to have limits when it comes to cornering... Ive reached 70mph and itll easily take more. Hugs the road like you wouldnt believe. Now about the interiors and quality. Infiniti made everything fantastic.. Love the music system, the driver seats and plush comfort

Considered the Lexus, Range Rover, MB GL and there was not even a comparison in my mind.

  • Best full size luxury SUV out there! - 2005 Infiniti QX56

I did extensive research before this purchase and Im very pleased with the results. The fit, finish, and comfort features are second to none. Many of the luxury options on this vehicle are standard compared to others (Cadillac, Lincoln, Land Rover, Lexus, Denali), and you wont find as many on the road which makes it unique! Although Nissan makes the similar Armada for about $7K less, this one has all of the bells and whistles, the engine is smooth, quiet and more powerful. Before you go and buy an escalade or Navigator, stop by your Infiniti dealer...youll end up with one in your garage (if it will acutally fit in it!!)
