Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Traded in my 05 TL for an 05 - 2005 Infiniti G35

In November I bought a new 2005 Acura TL. It was beautiful inside and out but it drove badly. Torque steer, Brakes pulled, vibration in pedal and steering wheel at speed. I just traded it in on a 2005 G35. I love the G35. It drives properly. (keep in mind I have been driving a Mecedes E Class for the last ten years so my idea of properly is RWD) I find that the G35 drives a lot like my My Mercedes but it has a lot more power and is more noisy. anyway, I love the G35 so far.

I was torn between the Nissan 350Z and the Infiniti G35C, so I put deposits down on both. A couple of months later, the dealers got in test cars & I test drove them the same day. Both drove fantastic. There was very little difference in handling between the two. Each model had its own plusses and minuses: the 350Z had a more aggressive styling and more people took notice of it; the G35C had more trunk space, a usable back seat, a sunroof, and less visibility problems than the 350Z. But, in the end, I would have been happy with either one -- I would accept whichever car came in first, which turned out to be the G35C.

  • Great Sport Sedan!!! - 2006 Infiniti M45

The 2006 M-45 Sport is a great sport sedan and I think it is the best value of all the good sedans out there. If you compare it to its real peer group, BMW 545/550,MB E500/550,AUDI S-6, it is as fast or faster, handles and brakes better, has more user features in the interior, and is less expensive! My car is loaded with Voice-activated Navigation ,Bluetooth , heated and cooled seats,DVD,6-disc CD changer, leather, 19 in. brushed aluminum sport wheels, etc. It is the best drivers sport sedan I have ever owned. The acceleration is very quick (0-60 in 5.2 sec.), the brakes are phenomenal, and the handling is very flat around fast corners.

  • Probably the best car in its class - 2015 Infiniti Q50

A lot of reviewers and car magazines like to brag on and on about the road feel and handling of a BMW 3 series. But most people in the real world arent driving their car on a racetrack, a mountain road or trying to set a lap time. The Audi A4 doesnt even compare to this car in any way. This is more spacious, more powerful, and the quality of the material and fit and finish is on par. The S4 however, is a better car. The same story with the 3-series. When compared to a 328, the Q50 is definitely the better car. A 335 is a better performance machine, but the ride and comfort is sacrificed in the name of performance. If youre looking for a great balance of luxury and sport, but you dont want to fork over $50k or more (Audi S4, BMW 335i, etc.) This is the best car in its class.

  • Fun to Drive - Just a Little Cramped - 2008 Infiniti G35

Superb acceleration and holds the road well. A good looking car with features you cant find at the price. I chose this over the Acura TL. The TL is a quieter driving experience but it doesnt have the raw power and machismo of the G35.
