Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • VERY UNRELIABLE - 2002 Infiniti I35

I have had problems with the car since I purchased it. Its been recalled twice. The car stalls when Im driving or stopping, it bucks when driving at high speeds then feels like its going to stall out on me. My wife will not drive the car anymore because she is afraid. The infiniti has been in and out of many service centers and they cannot find the problem.

  • Best experince - 1998 Infiniti I30

I am far from the kind of guy that would write a review, however after looking at the things other people had to say regarding their experience, I wanted to share mine as well. I originally leased the vehicle in 98, and went over my yearly mileage because it was so fun to drive. I had a freakish accident which caused a small fire under the hood (alternator) that happened within the first 6 months of the car, but it was fixed and I have had no major problems at all. I took the car in for regular maintenance which added to the overall longevity, but other than that; no problems.

  • QX56 - Best Bang For The Buck! Love IT! - 2010 Infiniti QX56

Bought this vehicle after owning an FX35 and then G37. Great vehicle and best bang for the buck compared to other luxury vehicles. Wanted bigger and something safer after having a baby. This is definitely a great vehicle to have with a growing family! Miss the FX, but love the QX

Straight up performance w/luxury and technology! Some may not be ready for the new G35 sedan. Only the few owners of this car can relate. A heavy foot can get you in trouble if youre not careful. It will unleash a plethora of power and unlike the rest of the class. Infiniti comes standard w/306 hp. The G35 Sport is specifically designed w/a limited-slip differential for improved traction under acceleration and larger disc brakes & redesigned calipers for better stopping power. Additional cost for luxury & convenience is very reasonable and with all the toys, it is still a lot cheaper than other cars in its class. Also, you get the credible repuation of Infinitis reliability & safety

  • One of the best in the GT coupe class - 2008 Infiniti G37

The Infiniti G37 is an amazing vehicle. Ever since I saw the original G35 I always wanted one. After the G37 came out I went and bought a 2 door G37 S with all the fixings including the 6 speed manual and navigation. This car is not only fast, but reliable and sexy all at the same time. A car with all of its features normally sells for thousands of dollars more. Infiniti also made the interior of the car a lot better now and it is up to par with some of the nicer luxury cars out there. Give this car a test drive, you wont be disappointed!

  • Nice Vehicle - 2004 Infiniti I35

Ive been driving it for 3 years and its reliability has been faultless. I still love the way it looks and drives.

  • Luxury at a Lower Cost - 2007 Infiniti M45

I opted out from buying the Sport model due to it being for my wife and the harsher ride. I purchased a used 2007 M45 with 18K. It has the Tech pkg & the Advanced Tech pkg. It may have the 18" wheels, but they are chrome and this car has the ground effect pkg including the spoiler like the Sport model. You cant beat the Graphite Metallic exterior and the black interior color combo! It handles great and has lots of power, though for a V8, I think there is a lot of it capped somewhere in the programming. This car is loaded with features! It has everything except the power rear seat controls. The steering, braking, balance, and power combo is superb!

  • The G35: An Outstanding Luxury GT Value - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

The G35 is an outstanding vehicle which has fullfilled all of my hopes and expectations. Its a tremendous combination of luxury and sports car performance. It has truly earned the label of a GT (grand touring) car, and with a price range of $30,000 - $37000, it also represents an exceptional value. Of course, no car is perfect, and the G does have a few minor flaws, mostly due to poor interior design choices. (See suggested improvements) However, overall the car has been terrific, and I look forward to putting several more thousands of miles on mine.

  • Great Car - 2007 Infiniti G35

Drove Saabs for 20+ years and the G35 is significantly better in all respects. Havent had it back to dealer for anything but scheduled maintenance in 1-1/2 years - 30,000 miles. Can easily drive 750+ miles per day without getting tired. Best quality new car Ive owned in 45+ years of new car ownership.
