Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • If you like a sport car, this is it - 2004 Infiniti G35

It feels like a sport car, real fun to drive. However be prepared to pay for your fun: 15 miles per galon like Durango. Last snow in New York have proved that G-35 can handle it very well, just keep VDC OFF. Very uncomfortable stereo and climate controls, first time in my life I had to read manual to understand it.

  • I love this car! - 2008 Infiniti G37

Infiniti won! for a few months now I have been debating on my new car. The cadillac cts-v has been on my wish list for a few years now. Early march 08 I took a trip to go test drive the CTS and my wife said "Hey there is an Infiniti dealership on the way, lets stop in and look." Needless to say I never made it to the Cadillac. I am 64" 300lbs, and i sit comfortably in the G37. The front seats feel like LazyBoy recliners. The pep is nice but I notice a slight delay from the time I floor it to the accelaeration throwing me into the seat, but it is easy to point out a flaw when there is only one.

  • What a car!!! - 2002 Infiniti G20

I purchased the Sport model(Silver Crystal) on April 27, 2002. I only have 150 miles on it, but I love the car already. Its very comfortable and mixes ride quality with world class handling superbly. The interior is a great mix of luxury and sport. The engine could use a little more horse but Im not complaining. Sunroof, Heated Seats and Bose Radio are great features. My wife and I purchased the car for $2000 below Invoice. Gets alot of head turns. Best car Ive ever owned.

  • Thrill to Drive - 2007 Infiniti G35

I have been researching new cars for over a year and the G35X was a last minute choice. I originally looked at Lincoln MKZ, Lexus IS250, Cadillac CTS & BMW 325. But I have to say Im absolutely in love with this car. It moves like the wind and is a joy to drive. The only issue I have so far is getting the HomeLink system to work with my garage door opener but thats a minor problem when compared with the exceptional performance of this car!

  • Fun to drive - 2006 Infiniti G35

I love this car. I usually get a new car ever four years or so but I am planning on keeping this car for at least one and maybe two more years. It has great power, and the handling is excellent. All with decent fule economy. In 1965 I had a GTO with tri power carbs and a four speed manual transmission. My G35 would run rings around the GTO in every department including acceleration. Amazing for a 6 cylinder car.

  • 2005 Infiniti Q45 - 2005 Infiniti Q45

This is my second q45. This a lot of car for the price. I never worry about breakdowns. The car is flawless and i have owned jags, cadillacs, acura rls, etc. Its handling is superior to the lexas 430 and most all cars. Dealer service is a 10, being tops. Also, lots and lots of power. This car has been overlooked by car reviewers. The various comments leed me to believer that they never drove the infiniti q45

  • Bigger is Better - 2005 Infiniti QX56
    By -

A/C could be stronger at the beginning. But does fine once vehicle has driven for a short period. Only item I would change inside is split third row seats. Everything else is excellent! So far so good only 700 miles. Happier now then with my Lexus RX 330!

Purchased G35 8 months ago, has approx. 8500 miles and major electrical problems. Has been at dealership for a total of 21 days, I have taken it in 3 times and was told it was fixed!! NOT North Houston Infiniti has offered me no relief!!!! Only grief! Have applied with state for Lemon relief. I know these are good cars, I just happened to get a bad one.
