Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Love it! - 2007 Infiniti QX56

I purchased my vehicle in Jan 07 and have 3700 miles on it. This car is a dream to drive. I had driven a van or suburban for 25 years and wanted something different. I test drove the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade but didnt care for them. The Lexus was just too small. I went ahead and purchased the QX56 even after reading some very bad reviews because I talked to several owners of the QX56 and they loved theirs. The main problems I read were with the brake system. Mine brakes just fine. I feel very safe in this solid vehicle. I get approx 14 mpg in town and 17 to 18 on the hwy. West Houston Infiniti is great. I wouldnt recomend Clear Lake - not very friendly.

By far, this car is the most fun to drive of any in its class. Sharp, responsive and tight.

Move over BMW 3 series. There is a new winner in that segment that costs thousands less. I drove both the BMW 335 and 328 sedans, Audi A4, Acura TL, Lexus IS (both models) and none compared to the new G35 sedan. Although BMWs steering was more precise and Infiniti has not mastered 0 body roll when making sharp turns, the G35 kills the BMW 3 series and its competitors in every other segment, and again, its much cheaper. It offers more horsepower then the BMW and the interior is not cheesy looking at all as it is on the BMW. It offers quality and reliability as does Acura and Lexus but still has a sporty feel to it unlike Lexus. Summary: Move over BMW 3 series, there is a new winner!!!

This car is so nice. I have had two BMW 3s and an Audi A4. This car has a nicer inside than all and faster. A win win situation. Get the spoiler, it is worth it...

Bought this vehicle after seeing one cruise past me on the highway. The G35 lives upto its looks with power and style to spare.

  • Happy With Car - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have had this car for two summers now and have logged on 9,000 miles. It only gets out on sunny days. I find the car to be a practical sports car. It is fast, handles well, quiet interior, great creature comforts, brakes excellently, excellent MPG (21 to 25), and has enough room to comfortably take the family. I thought the car was fast until I recently drove a 2005 corvette. This car does not compete in acceleration with a vet but it is very sporty and certainly is more comfortable to drive as a regular driver than the vet. I would buy this car again but I wish the paint was better!

I ordered this car in September of 2002 and it arrived in January of 2003. It was well worth the wait. I love the way the car handles and the feel as I shift through the gears. The pick-up is fantastic as well. The console is very nice and I the fit and finish were much nicer than the 350Z which I also test drove.

  • The best 2-door in the world - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car is simply the best. Everything a car should be....and most of all, it doesnt cost a house. Driving the G35 coupe is heaven.

  • great car - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have owned mostly german made cars and after buying the G35 I do not think I will ever go back. This car provides you with the same things you would get in a Mercedes for about $20,000 less. Plus it will eat a BMW and spit it out on the road.
