Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • G35 Coupe worth the money and ride - 2003 Infiniti G35

The G35 Coupe is more than what I expected. For many people, me included, the Nissan 350Z is the first choice. But after looking and riding in this car the only choice is the Infiniti G35 Coupe. The ride is smoother and quieter compared to the Z car. The longer wheel base compared to the Z car and the back seat with plenty of room makes this a good addition to my car family. Most importantly, it is fun to drive.

  • THE G ROCKS!! - 2004 Infiniti G35

I was shopping for a sport coupe and I had a few in mind (Mazda RX, Nissan Z,Lexus SC and the IMPRESSIVE G35!)I test drove all of them and it was simply love at first shift with the Infiniti! The G35 6MT was very responsive and it handled like a dream. It actually came down to the G or the Z! I went with the G for these reasons- back seats which created a lot more room for me @ 62", sunroof and a great luxury, sporty exterior design. Ive only had it for about 6 weeks and I have no complaints. The G was definititely the right choice for me. :o)

Great ride for the buck, a blast with 6 speed. Fun to drive, plenty of power & great brakes for when Im going too fast, which is important. One of the best looking cars on the market at any price.

  • Great luxury SUV - 2003 Infiniti QX4

Ive driven this SUV for almost 2 years and am very satisified with the entire experience, except the gas mileage. Im getting 14.5 mpg in town and am usually the only occupant of the car. Bummer. I upgraded from the I30 to this car and I love being up higher than most oncoming headlights.

  • Transmission Problems - 2014 Infiniti QX60
    By -

Do not buy the 2014 QX60. Major transmission issues. The car shudders at low speeds (slight uphill). Its as if it cannot get from 1st to 2nd gear properly. Ive already had the software reset for the transmission and just today Ive had the valve replaced. After searching the internet, this problem is occurring with many of the 2014 QX60s out there. I had a Toyota Sienna before with ZERO issues. We bought the QX60 because she wanted "luxury". All we got was a big headache. We plan to sell before we have to deal with changing out the whole transmission. I will never buy Nissan or Infiniti again.

  • Pure Excitement - 2009 Infiniti G37

There is no comparison to a BMW 3 series, this is the car to beat. Plain and simple if you love driving (aggressively I might add) and love to see cars in your rear view mirror then get this car. The G37 X is all u need. Fun to drive. Power is incredible. The interior is classy not overbearing. The ride is smooth. This car will put a huge smile on your face when you drive and look at it. Enough said. Keep blowing away BMW. True drivers will appreciate and love this car.

  • More than I expected!! - 2004 Infiniti G35

Went in to buy a G35 sedan but was lured away by the coupe. The difference in money was a no-brainer. I cant get over all this car has to offer...power, more power, superb handling, style, and did I mention power? Im around cars all day long, so Im not easily impressed. The G35 easily impressed me.
