Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Built to perform - 2014 Infiniti QX60

I bought the fully loaded QX60 Hybrid Front wheel in March 2014. I enjoy the smooth, comfortable and quiet ride. I just made it to 5000 miles. I mostly drive in a normal mode, shown by the "dot" on the dial knob. The city and highway mileage combined gives 26 MPG. For the highway, it gives up to 29 MPG. Look at the MPG bar on the center display panel and learn to drive accordingly to get better MPG. When possible, hit the brakes slowly and see how hybrid battery charges. No premium gas needed. It is not a race car, but if you want to drive that way you can (switch dial to sport mode), may not get best MPG.

  • Whats with the nay sayers??? - 2007 Infiniti G35

I really dont understand some of you peoples gripes about this car. Tires and brakes worn out in less than a yr? Averaging 14mpg? Well how about you slow it down. Thats whats you can expect when your flooring it every time your behind the wheel. Even one person that complained about everything in regards to how the car looked inside. Well then why did you buy it. The appearance didnt change after you made your purchase did it? Quality on this car is top notch, its a nissan made vehicle of course. The ride feels extremely stable in all maneuvers. Yeah the average of about 18 to 20 mpg is a bit on the low side but when your pushing out 306hp what do you expect?

  • The G35 Is Infiniti-ly Magnificent! ;) - 2005 Infiniti G35

This car is simply amazing!! We test drove everything in this class to be sure the G35 was "the one." Absolutely NOTHING compared, in look, feel or drive. The G35 sedan is drop-dead gorgeous outside. The inside is even nicer. The seats feel like Im driving from my couch! No more fights for the center armrest. ;) The instrument panels are cleanly arranged, giving the "featurey" feel we adore, without being fussy or complicated. At the same time the car exudes luxury, it drives like a race car! The sounds it makes are intoxicating. So is the speed! Left plenty a bigger engine in the dust, smoothly purring on past. Fast, smooth, and sleek, the G35 is definitely the best of both worlds!

  • Lots of Car - 2004 Infiniti G35

With only a few issues, Infiniti would have produced one of the best cars Ive ever driven. Lots of power and extrememly fun to drive. Some lack of detail on the part of the engineers and poor fuel economy keep this from being a 10 all around.

  • The Ultimate SUV experiance - 2011 Infiniti QX56

For my family This is by far the Best SUV ever created! And it is still under-priced compared to The lexus counterpart. And we were also excited to know that Nissan will not have a body style similar to this in Northern America.

  • Best Value in Entry-Lux Segment - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

G35 value beat A4, TL, Accord, BMW 3. Exterior design very seductive, except black patches in front air dam. Keyless locks/start button are amazing. Excellent interior design; quality and ergonomics. Driver memory system is awesome. Excellent fit & finish. Accelerator a bit touchy, but wow - love the torque. Handling is amazing. Ipod interface is just OK. Lighting scheme very cool. Tranny lacks refinement, with "thump!" from 2nd to 3rd under hard driving. Add a 6th gear: 70mph runs at 3200 rpms. Getting about 18mpg in mixed driving, 23 hwy at 75mph. This is a performance vehicle. Has room for improvements, but for $10k+/- less than Lexus IS350 or BMW 3, it cant be beat.

  • Best in Price Range - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Before I went to Infinity dealer, I test drove BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C 3 series, Lexus IS 300, Nissan Altima, Audi A4, and I just tried the new redesighned Audi A4. Comparing the luxury, comfort, performance, features and price of Infiniti and all above cars, Infiniti gets 10(excellent) rating.

  • Great Car - 2001 Infiniti G20

This is a really great car at a very reasonable price. It has great quality lacks acceleration however the drive on the highway is very nice.

  • JDs I35 Review - 2004 Infiniti I35

This is my 7th Infinity and I have never had one problem with any of them. I just buy and ride, carefree until my next new Infinity purchase.

  • POW !!!! - 2003 Infiniti G35

Never driven anything like it...absolutely incredible to drive. Only problem that Ive had were interior noises which turned out to be things that were either my fault or fixable.
