Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Easy decision - 2007 Infiniti G35

I did my due diligence before buying my G. I have had a couple of 5 series 5 speeds and just felt that BMW was living of their name more than advancing their car. Test drove the TL 6 speed and did not like the handling or the stereo. Lexus has nothing to offer in the 6 speed (is250?). I test drove the G35 and it was an easy decision. This car has it all - luxury, power, handling, looks, reliability, power, GREAT sound from the premium package and did I say power. I have an I30 5 speed going on 150K miles that I have only put brakes on once. These cars are really made well. This is a no brainer.

Almost a perfect SUV. Better than the 4runner! Has perfect size and capablities! If you have one 01 and newer, you know! 97-00 Have no proformance and are real sluggish! Cant imagine why Infiniti discontinued this great SUV. The FX35/45 looks like nothing but a sports minivan!

  • Recommend Q 2 any 1 - 1998 Infiniti Q45
    By -

Ive had my Q going on eight months. The car is out of this world. From acceleration to comfort. I really dont know for you are looking for but the 1998 Q is the most superior V8 in its class. Its a great car and very reliable on the highway. Highly recommend the Q45. Nothing like it. Must drive one today..

  • The Perfect SUV - 2002 Infiniti QX4

Good looking and fun to drive.

  • Redefined Luxury - 2002 Infiniti I35

My new I35 was the best investment I have made. I drive over 20,000 miles a year and I needed a car that would make it fun while safe. The 255 hp engine makes it feel like Im driving a sports car, but the styling and comfort remind you that its a luxury vehicle. The Bose sound system is amazing.

  • Cant stop driving - 2003 Infiniti G35

I could not justify getting A4 1.8, 325 or c230 because of cheap interior, small engines and quality concerns (c230). The price for well equipped A4 3.0, 330i and c320 felt too high and the interior space is still tight. With G35 I found the perfect combination of style, internal space, contemporary interior and stunning performance for reasonable price. Did I mention stunning performance? This car is avesome. I have two concerns right now: 1 - inventing reasons to go places, and 2 - I can lose my drivers licence. I dont mind 1, but I am afraid from 2. If you are in the market for sporty car between 27-45K you own yourself a test drive.

  • I love this SUV! - 2011 Infiniti QX56
    By -

Dollar for dollar, the best value out there for performance, luxury and fun factor. Coming from 2008 Escalade. Drives like a sports car with feel of an SUV. Its far more easy to navigate around town, provides a better ride, has more passing power, and looks better in and out. Test drove the new MB GL and the Lexus LX. The third row seat in both of them were far smaller, and didnt handle as good. The GL did have a nicer center row, but was inferior elsewhere. Very Pleased overall. I like that it doesnt look like every SUV on the road; its distinctive styling makes stand out.

  • Ivory Pearl - 2003 Infiniti M45

This vehicle is reliable (at 90K miles) and still drives the same as when I drove it brand new off the lot. As an engineer, this car has all the technological gadgets one could want or need. Amazing driving performance (power - 340HP & 333 ft.-lb. of torque and handling) and style. I havent had any issues except a recent gas gauge replacement by the manufacturer. This vehicle is incredible when I compare it to previous vehicles such as: 1991 M3 and Acura 3.0 CL.

Purchased one year ago (have identical 2003 model). Greatest feature is the seamless power from the engine. Beautiful. It is also a terrific value for the price.

  • I love my "I" - 2003 Infiniti I35
    By -

I do love the I-35 that I purchased after considering almost every other brand name automobile available. It has come through every day with the best handling, best ride, and the most fun overall that I found during my test drives. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonable priced luxury car that is a blast to drive!
