Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • G35: From mine to hers, no getting back! - 2005 Infiniti G35

I bought it "for me," my wife drove it that same evening, I have not gotten it back since. I have never heard her talk about loving a car, but, she LOVES "her 2003 G35 Coup." Truly a great car; Fun, stylish, eye catching, powerful, smooth ride, excellent transmission using either automatic or optional manual. I will now make excuses to go to the store, taking "her" car, then logging 20 miles for a 3 mile round trip. Although I loved my 94 "40" Anniversary Corvette, the speed and handling of the G35 is (I truly believe)better than the Corvette. Having owned many fun, stylish or powerful cars, the G35 combines all three characteristics into one HOT CAR. We("SHE")LOVES our(HER) G35 Coup.

G35 is, bar none, the best car I have ever owned. Its shape is low and curvy and sensuous to the eyes, yet is also all business when it comes to rocketing off the light. Everybody looks at my car when I drive by or sit next to them at the light. I even get admiring glances from people in that supposed front runner (330i). I cant wait for the Infiniti sanctioned aftermarket parts to really make this baby move!

  • Finally found the right car - 2006 Infiniti G35

We looked at the Acura TL, very sporty, not a smooth ride for the price, same with Honda Accord. New camry, to funky looking, Lexus ES 330--smooth ride, not sporty enough. Infiniti G 35--280 hp, awesome power and comfort, love the sportiness and smooth ride, we fight over who gets to drive it, the long commuter or short traveler! Weve had it a week and have NO buyers remorse, and you can get some GREAT deals on the 06 right now! I read these reviews on all the cars we test drove, dont buy another car before you test drive this one. Infiniti also has a great warranty and typically great customer service. We are repeat Infiniti buyers!

  • Still going strong! - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

After 30 months of hard South Florida driving, my QX56 is still going strong! Im averaging 15 mpg per fill-up with premium fuel. Ive had no mechanical problems and the vehicles handling and brakes have allowed me to avoid several potential accidents. For the money, I cant believe that this SUV doesnt rank higher on everyones list. Most people have not been inside a QX56 nor have they driven one but every time someone new gets inside my vehicle, its all compliments. For those who are shopping SUVs, reward yourself and check out the value of the QX56.

  • Best hybrid ever - 2014 Infiniti QX60

I have driven this car for 96000 miles and only changed the oil at 9000 mile intervals. Great ride, even with 8 people on board. This mileage is primarily interstate. Never used off road. This SUV is AWD, BUT Not as good in the snow as I would have liked. Tires were changed at 73000, but still had inspection passed tread.

  • excelent suv - 2003 Infiniti QX4

this is an excelent suv which V6 motor rivals any V8 plus, it has a very refined interior but without loosing the suv esence, my final words are that i recomend this suv to any one who is searching for a luxurios and at the same time powerful suv, two thumbs up for the infiniti QX4

  • First crossover/SUV - 2013 Infiniti JX
    By -

Looking for a car with 3 row seating that fits 7, including enough space for 3 children needing carseat/boosters, and 3rd row enough leg room for adults. Both Toyota Highlander and Acura MDX are nice but outdated. Almost got 2013 Pathfinder, but deal fell through last minute. Ended up with 2013 JX, 2 wheel drive, with premium, driver assist and theater package, at over $2K under invoice. Felt got a good value, considering Indinity badge, with nice features, and about $5K over top of line Toyota Sienna Limited. Car is quieter than minivan, with better mileage (about 21.5 to 22.5 MPG) with 90% HWY. Await the crash test/safety rating.

  • A super smooth ride - 2009 Infiniti G37
    By -

I bought this car after having a Honda Accord for a year. What a difference. Aside from the styling, which is beautiful, this car IS power. And at 75 mph, the ride is as smooth as it is at 25. I love the car! Cup holders could be bigger - larger cups dont fit - especially alongside a breakfast sandwich. A minor concession.

  • Impressive Machine! - 2003 Infiniti G35

Ive just reached the end of the manufacturer break-in period and I cant wait to stretch it out! This car is very impressive...great performance for the $$.
