Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

More fun to drive than my Acura TL (but less refined interior and noisier ride). Handles like a BMW for lot less cost (& looks better). Great engine & smooth auto trans. Mileage could be a bit better in city.

I am very displeased w/ the infiniti g35. If you want a true sport sedan go for the Cadillac CST. Much better vehicle and built in the USA.

  • WOW!! with a wider smile every mile. - 2003 Infiniti G35

I have owned my Laser Red G35 Coupe for just over a week. I have never been more satisfied with a purchase. This car sells itself. The combination of performance (the exhaust tone sounds impatient to roar...then it does), safety, and solid engineering is like no other I considered. I paid full price and I still feel I am ahead on value. The G35s features would cost thousands more in other cars.

Im very happy with our purchase. Yes, mileage is not that great, but its still better than my truck, and theres more horsepower too. My lone complaint is that its primarily my wifes daily driver and not mine! But thats hardly Infinitis fault.

  • 2003 G35 w/performance pkg - 2005 Infiniti G35

Had twin turbo Mitsu 3000 for 11 years before this. G35 is a sig step down in performance. Like rear wheel drive but tires narrow for weight of car, spinning out too easy. Ext. paint is cheap/thin and chips very easily. Interior plastic parts (changed to alum on 2004) are showing wear even though I baby it, damn cheap stuff. Is this a GM car? Dealer price on Brembo pads and rotors for care is almost $4,000. First and last Nissan product I buy. Next time Lexus, BMW or Merc. No place to plug my iPod, whats up with that? No bluetooth!! Paint on gear shift wore off under hand! Cheap cheap cheap. They lie about the gas mileage, really 23 highway, not 27

  • World Class - 2003 Infiniti M45

Safety, Power, sure footed responsiveness, Cost, Technology with a dash of analog ... make the M 45 a World Class vehicle. A must test drive for those that are in the market for a quality vehicle. Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes, Volvo take a back seat for similar vehicles in the same price range.

My wife and I we about to buy another BMW 745i when we saw this car at the car show. I bought one the next morning after driving it. And I saved about $40K. I cannot believe the power, handling, technology, comfort and refinement of this car. Lets not for get the price, mine is loaded and it is still under $50K. I get more comments on my M than my wife gets on her brand new $82K BMW, and I can beat her car any time any place. Needless to say she cannot wait to get one.

Really cant think of a thing I dont like (well OK the gas mileage) - good power, excellent handling, 4WD that really works well in slippery conditions, every option you could want, nice styling. Way better than those creaky Fords and clunky Jeeps...

  • G35 Sedan is a blast - 2003 Infiniti G35

I recently purchased the 2003 G35 Sedan with the premium and winter package and have enjoyed it on a daily bases. Even though the car is a sedan it still has a sports car feel and handling. The interior is roomy and comfortable. Im 6"5 and the G35 has enough leg room and head room for me. I recommend this car for those that need the convinence of a sedan and the sportiness of a coupe.
