Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Professional Reviewers Are Wrong - 2003 Infiniti M45
By CincyRon - September 12 - 10:00 amBest luxury car for the money. I traded a Jag S-Type (Taurus in a cat suit) for a sports sedan that beats it in every category. Car magazines are down on the exterior looks, but I the design grew on me overtime. Once I test drove the machine, I knew it was a superior car to the Jag.

There is No Substitute! - 2003 Infiniti G35
By droptop34 - September 12 - 10:00 amThis is pound for pound the best luxury sport sedan on the market for the best price, and the best deal between the sedan and the coupe. Mainly b/c if you buy the 6-speed, sport suspension/wheels/tires are included. This is the best feeling, best handling car Ive ever driven. Perfect combination of comfortable yet truly sportscar ride. Every creature comfort you could think of, and some you wouldnt, is included. Plenty of cupholders, leg room/headroom, storage compartments, 2 glove boxes, huge trunk, plenty of airbags. Infiniti outdid themselves all the way around. If I were an exec at BMW Id be firing some design and marketing people.

Love it - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Malafis - September 10 - 6:00 amI bought my 2005 g35x in August of 2008. I loved this car since the day I bought it. The only thing that I dont like is the brake wear on the car. I learned that this car comes stock with a softer brake pad which results in greater braking power but also results in shorter brake life.

Over a year and LOVE my G35S - 2007 Infiniti G35
By Michael - September 8 - 7:43 amI have had my G35S for over a year now and I can honestly say that I still love this car. Great brakes, great performance, great style, great radio, just an all around great car!!! My only complaint is the gas mileage, it is not good at all. I know this car is a performance car, but I never expected 16 mpg or less for highway/local road travel.

By M.E. - September 6 - 8:03 amjust bought the car about 4 days ago and i wake up just to drive this car. the car is beautiful in black and the black interior is amazing. premium package is great intelegent key is a good convienience. the car looks nice with or without the spoiler so it doesnt matter and the BOSE sound system is worth every penny. One thing im surprised no one talked about is the exhaust. deep strong sound just loud enough to hear but not annoyingly loud the ride is extremely smooth no complaints other then the fuel economy

Better Car than my previous BMW - 2004 Infiniti G35
By quidycat - September 1 - 10:00 amI had a 2000 BMW and liked it a lot. When I saw the Infiniti G35 coupe and test drove it, I was surprised that it was more fun to drive than my BMW with more horse power. Handling is precise. The car is very responsive. The interior is more comtemporary and well equipped compared to BMWs more traditional minimalist feel. It really is a fun car. A simliar midsize BMW or Audi with similar options and specifications would cost about $10,000 more than G35. I love my new G35 am glad I didnt get another BMW.

Great Car - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Nanaimo Driver - August 30 - 11:33 pmWonderful vehicle to drive, great performance and amazing power above 2500 rpm. This car does, however, need good rubber and have found the factory tires totally inadequate, especially on wet surfaces. Have also found the car a tad light in the rear when cornering, which could again be a result of the tires. Would not hesitate to buy another Infiniti.
