Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I loved this vehicle from the moment I laid eyes on it driving my previous car down the highway. I immediatly searched the web for pricing information on this vehicle. I couldnt believe how affordable this it was compared to the qualiy and style that is offered. It is worth every cent if not more!

This car really gets the looks and has measured up to almost all my expectations. The only items I would look to improve would be memory for the electric seats and better gas mileage. Beyond that this car is everything you could want, great handling, great power, killer stereo and wonderful ride. I find myself looking forward to go to work just to drive the car.

  • Fun car to drive - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have had my G35X for about 6 weeks now. It is a lot of fun to drive. Pick up and handling are great. I like the AWD. The interior is nicely appointed, and there is a lot of leg room for the front passengers. My wife says that she is more comfortable in the G35X than she was in my Audi A6. THe XM radio and sound system are very good. I have the navigation system/trip computer which I have used several times to get away from traffic jams and find locations in unfamiliar areas, and it has worked well. The gas mileage is a disappointment, but I was aware of it before purchasing. I only get 17.1-17.4 mpg in a combination of local and parkway driving in the NY metropolitan area.

  • Nice to Have - 2003 Infiniti G35

Overall the G35 is a nice car to have and very fun to drive. I have had several compliments on the exterior and interior of the car. There are many compartments to store maps, CDs, etc. It is really nice to have the speed to drop the hammer when you want/need to. The controls on the steering wheel are very useful and erogonomic.

Really fun to drive with great build quality and comfort. Very safe vehicle. Styling is great, also. I have had it for over a year and do not regret the purchase one bit.

  • Great car... - 2004 Infiniti G35

Hands down, most car for the $$ available in the US. Great acceleration, handling, and fantastic sound system. I compared every sedan and coupe under $40k, and the G35 has it all. Except for M3 ($50k) and RS6 ($60k), this coupe blows everything from Germany away- without the expensive maintanence. Only drawbacks are typical of sports coupes- small trunk (but rear seats fold down making it more useful) and headroom for tall drivers. Im 63" and barely clear the headliner- opt out of the sunroof if youre tall.

  • Two Years Later & Would Do It Again! - 2008 Infiniti G35

Two-year follow up on my 2008 G35xS. Have the "S" pckge which makes car even better. The "S" package is 18" beautiful wheels, different front facia, side rocker panel, paddle shifters, sport seats. Suspension stays same as stock which is nice blend for sport/comfort. Bought used and have owned two years and put on over 50k miles. ZERO problems with this car. Reliability has been rock-solid. Other than typical maintenance I have put nothing into this car. Have always owned Audi/VW and even though the Infiniti interior isnt quite the fit and finish of the Audi it is close. The AWD system in this car is flawless. Drives like RWD until you need the traction in snow/rain.

  • The Most Complete All-in-One - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Alot of people try to find a car within the confines of the 30k range. The wait is over. This car is the complete package and you get the performance (260hp+) and styling (if you dont mind the rear-end) rolled into one. Mind you, the rear end is better justified when viewed in person. The car handles great on turns and the rwd is just awesome to play around with on the streets. The furl economy is better than average for an engine with a monster 3.5L, nonethess anything below the 20mpg seems a bit steep these days as gas has gone up.

  • Picture Perfect! - 2007 Infiniti G35

Traded in an 06 BMW 325i for the G35 Sedan Sport w/Premium, Nav, & Tech pkg. Test drove Lexus IS 250 and BMW 5 series before. My wife loved the G35 coupe for quite a while so our last stop was Infiniti. Got sold on the sedan right away. More bang and ammenities for the buck. Brawn and beauty in one tight package! Great value and truly picture perfect, ivory pearl w/black interior, with power to match!

  • Best Bang for the Buck - 2005 Infiniti G35

Unbelievable the amount of car you get for the money. The G35 Coupe has surpassed my expectations. The interior is clean and well laid out and very roomy for a sport coupe seating 4. Drivers seat is very comfortable. The Bose stereo system is crystal clear and also works as an MP3 6 disc player to hold a ton of tunes. The exterior design is terrific. Sophisticated yet sporty. The G35 has the look of a car that should cost at least 10-20K more. Finally, step on the gas and feel the force of your body pushed back into the seat by the the 280 hp engine. Slip in and out of traffic or around sharp turns with ease. This car is the complete package.
