Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Amazing New Car - 2003 Infiniti G35

I just got done test driving the new coupe last night. The dealer near me has about 5 of them, one of them for sale! We have been in the market for a while for a sporty, 2 door, with a backseat in roughly this price range for a while. We looked at the Lexus IS300 and the Mercedes C230 Coupe. In our quest for the perfect car we were still lost until Saturday when we drove by the Infiniti dealership saw this gorgeous coupe. It was love at first site. This car was the most comfortable as well as the best performing car that we drove. It has all the extras, leather, heated seats, automatic seats, it even slides forward automatically for passengers in the rear.

This is a pretty good car. The sports package is a must, it makes the car look so amazing. It handles really well. The stereo is pretty good too. I jus wish it was a bit faster. Hard to get up hills.

  • This Car Is My Baby - 2006 Infiniti G35

I bought this car 3 years ago used with 78,000 miles on it. It now has 123,000 and still drives exactly the same as it did when i got it. Simply put, I love this car. It is the most fun to drive, comfortable, and reliable car I have ever owned. To make a comparison; I bought a new 2008 Mustang in 07, and the thing started having issues within 6 months of owning it, including needing a new alternator. This car, however, has never given me any problems whatsoever. As far as performance goes, this car is like a muscular ballerina. She handles turns and sharp corners delicately, but then hits the straight-a-ways like a bat out of hell. If I had the space I could keep on for days. In short, I lo

This vehicle has been dependable and has no surprises with reliability of starting or stopping. It is equally at home on the interstate as well as in high volume city driving. Is is well designed and I think that it looks and feels like a well conceived and well built machine. In spite of higher than average annual driving, it is still rattle free.

  • Car deserves serious consideration ! - 2003 Infiniti Q45

Coming from 6 previous Lexus models I was expecting a lot from this automobile. So far, it has delivered on all counts. Ride comfort, handling, style and most of all a plethora of electronic features. The voice recognition, navigation, intelligent cruise control are superb. The auto open/close trunk comes in very handy. The rear view camera when backing up is handy. The fit and finish is better than any Lexus I have ever owned. The sport ride position is great. Infiniti has gone the extra mile on this car. If you want more bang for you buck - take a long hard look at this automobile.

  • A Good Decision - 2003 Infiniti I35
    By -

I am very pleased with the car. I had a 4 Runner for the last 4 years and I was ready for a sedan with SOME performance. I initially thought I wanted a G35, but I think I would kill myself in that thing. Plus with all the extras I wanted, the G35 priced out about 4k higher than the I35. After a dose of reality and what I really wanted/needed, the I35 decision became clear.

  • Super Cruiser - 2014 Infiniti Q50
    By -

Extraordinary highway cruiser. Loads of horsepower to effortlessly pass, refined and comfortable suspension, fantastic seating comfort, concert hall audio quality, and a real world 34.3mpg at an average speed of 77mph with a/c running. This vehicle is near ideal for rolling down the highway.

  • Perfect car so far... - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have had absolutely no problems with this vehicle. I purchased it about 70 miles from my home, because I did have an extremely rude experience at my local dealership (Auto Place Infiniti, Buffalo, NY). I am sure the Infiniti company would not stand by that behavior, and I presume it was an isolated event, however, inexcusable. Rochesters Dorschel Infiniti, its email/purchasing communications, were flawless! It has been extremely reliable, with nothing but maintenance costs, thus far. I do wish the fuel economy was a bit better. And the only technical quality gripes I have with it are that the side view mirrors are not heated, and the trunk lid quality and closure feels a bit cheap.
