Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Solid vehicle. Easy to ingress and egress. Excellent traction on wet pavements with AWD. Controls ergonomically and safely located particularly with steering wheel mounted controls. Great power - no concern with lack of acceleration. Safety features excellent. Exceptionally pleased with overall performance and handling.

  • What a car! - 2003 Infiniti G35

I recently purchased a G35 and I am having so much fun driving this car. It handles beautifully and has such a smooth ride. I wasnt planning to buy such a sporty sedan and had looked seriously at buying the I35, but the comfort and performance of the G35 really sold me.

  • Excellent car - 2004 Infiniti G35

This is the best car IÂ’ve ever owned. It is a sports car so donÂ’t expect it to be a plush, cushy ride. Tires are noisy but to be expected from performance tires. If you are looking for a luxury car look elsewhere. If you are looking for a performance/luxury car look no further. The car is extremely fun to drive especially around the curves. Clutch takes some time to get used to. Brembo brakes do not have the wear issues that the standard brakes do. DIY maintenance is relatively easy.

  • Love it - 2003 Infiniti G35

Great car. Have 32,000 miles on it and have had no problems. Very quick, one of the quickest I have driven. Very stylish as well. Bought the fully loaded package and glad I did.

  • Great SUV for two - 2003 Infiniti QX4
    By -

This is a very good looking sturdy SUV and a great second hand buy. It is basically a luxury Nissan Pathfinder, with an auto (AWD) mode, although the AWD mode is not that effective. Compared to a Lexus or Acura, the suspension is stiffer and cabin noise is higher. My biggest regret with this vehicle (which I should have checked when I bought) : The rear seating is very uncomfortable, there is hardly any headroom and sits very high. If you plan on using a car seat DO NOT BUY buy this SUV. The passenger door entry is narrow and the seats being high, moving a toddler in and out of the car seat is not a pleasant affair.

  • Wonderful Vehicle - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

I leased an Infiniti FX 35; however, I returned and wanted to stay with the Infiniti brand. I purchased the I30t with 65,500 miles and the vehicle is not even broken in, yet. I am the second owner and could tell the vehicle was garage kept and hardly driven. The vehicle does sit-low (but I did go from an SUV to car). If youre thinking about buying one, do- it!

Greate value, fun to drive, exelent turning radius. Power?... a lot of it. Family loves it, complements from my neighbors. Took it for a short trip to Santa Barbara very impressed with freeway handling and quiet ride, kids enjoyed "on board" movie. Overall better value then our 2001 Escalade.
