Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I Love It! - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Chrylrx - May 17 - 2:40 pmI have owned this vehicle for a couple of years and I love it. Not only does it look great, the performance is right up there with cars that cost a whole lot more and I have never had any trouble with it.

so far so good!! - 2003 Infiniti G35
By twin0202 - May 17 - 10:00 amJust Bought my 03 G-35 used @ 20k miles - absolutely in love. Was looking for a sporty but safe sedan, and found it in the G. Its been serviced for all the recall/TSB reports before i bought it, and hopeful its worked out most of the kinks. Its fun to drive and exterior body style is ahead of the game.

Beware of tires - 2007 Infiniti G35
By Melinda Palmer - May 8 - 10:10 amI have 26,000 miles on my G35 and need to put the third set of tires on the rear. I have been told that because of the difference in the tire size (front & rear) that rear tires seldom last for more than 10,000 - 12,000 miles. Wish someone had told me this prior to purchasing! Definitely will NOT purchase another G35.

Cute Car, Stinky Air conditioning - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Jemoce - May 6 - 4:03 pmFun car to drive, but there is a known problem with the air conditioning with the G class. No fix, had to go to arbitration because the dealer only wanted to spray air freshner when the problem was a major issue.

You CAN do better G37 SPORT AUTO - 2013 Infiniti G Sedan
By blurayking - May 5 - 10:35 amOnce a very good car minus the gas mileage. Ive had this car for 3 weeks and it averages 20.3 MPG. TERRIBLE! This is my second G Sedan since 2006 and that car got 25 MPG. compared to this one. What went wrong?? I think its their 7 speed transmission. It shifts too many times and NOT smoothly. I drive on the highway 90% of the time. So, it SHOULD by about 26 MPG. Why spend $46,000 for a 2013 G37S?? when there ARE better cars (BMW, Lexus and Audi) out there.

Back Aches from seat - 2004 Infiniti G35
By terra - April 17 - 10:00 amI test drove the car 4 times and from the beginning I was worried about the seat. I thought I would get use to it and find the proper adjustment. My back has been hurting ever since I got the car. I would give it back right now if it wouldnt cost me so much. The 18" wheels with the low profile tire rides very hard and is loud.

Too Many Squeaks, Rattles & Vibrations - 2003 Infiniti G35
By mindstar - April 9 - 10:00 amIts nice looking and fun to drive, though not as sporty as I expected - maybe because its longer than other sport sedans. Manual shift automatic is fun and very sporty, but could be a little crisper. DONT buy this car with sports suspension if you have a bad back - it will jostle you around. There are variable, unpredictable vibrations, squeaks, and rattles from the dash, console, and both front doors near the middle posts. Its like the car is organic and living - it makes annoying noises.

Great for empy nesters - 2009 Infiniti G37
By bburgh - April 3 - 11:08 pmIf you need a big trunk, plan on having people in the back seat for longer than 1/2 an hour or dont like a sporty ride dont buy this car. For two people who like to throw a car around on country roads this is "the" car. Its a joy to drive hard, but very comfortable if you take it easy. My only problem is my wife keeps taking it.

Enthusiasts Car - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Stephen - April 2 - 3:26 amJust sold my coupe...had it for over 2 years and put 21K miles on it. Gorgeous...quick...fun to drive...but the coupe with the 6 speed is designed for people that are into the car. It does carry a relatively low sales price, but the maintenance required on this automobile is similar to a 60K Mercedes. Brembo brakes...they work great..but they are expensive and wear out at around 20K miles...tires (18" rims)...expensive...and get very loud as they wear out...will last you about 15-20K miles depending on how you drive, tire pressure, etc. I always had people tell me how beautiful my car was....which made me feel good about the expenditures. Great styling....Cant wait for the 07 model
