Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Great Car - 2002 Infiniti G20

The car is beautiful, looks sporty and stylish. I got 5 speed with sport package. It is fun to drive it, but you have to get 5 speed. Interior set up and build quality are also great. I like the size of the car, not too big, not too small. Just right for me. The handling is superb. Also, I got this car with a great price.

  • Get One Before Theyre Gone - 2002 Infiniti G20

If you are reading this, you are probably in the market for a new car. If you want a small car with impeccable build quality, outstanding comfort, great handling, superior reliability, reasonable operating costs, and unmatched customer care, you need to look at the G20. But do it right away - the model has been discontinued and soon they will all be gone. I got mine for about $4500 under the sticker. I am extremely happy with the car, the dealer, and the total Infiniti buying experience. I am looking forward to owning this car for a long time. The total package is so darn appealing at close-out prices that you cant go wrong.

  • Power, luxury, & sport. Nice!! - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Battle of the cars; 350Z, M3, or G35. Definately G35. Youve got it all. Power, Luxury, and sport. The car has a sexy appeal unlike others, the comfort is ideal, and the ride exceptional. However, turn the VDC (vehicle dynamic control) and the 298 Hp engine shows you what its all about!! This car is a MUST have! The gas mileage could be a little better, but hey feel the torque. VERY satisfied, and Id buy the car all over again.

  • I love this car!! - 2005 Infiniti G35

This car is so much fun to drive! It has great acceleration, corners well and looks amazing. I test drove the BMW 330c, Lexus IS300 and the Infiniti G35. The Infiniti handled the best by far. I get compliments on this car constantly!!

  • 2005 QX56 The Best and Ive owned em all - 2006 Infiniti QX56
    By -

My QX56 is fantastic. Ive owned SUVs since they were called trucks, and this baby is no truck. It handles well, rides well and has torque to spare when you hit the pedal getting into traffic. Very roomy and comfortable we have the dual entertainment screens for the kidss in the seat backs....a blessing. Tires and Rims look great and the body style stands out.. I have owned Yukons, Jeeps, and the odd pickup and I can honestly say this QX56 is a winner. We looked at an Escalade and it was just an overexpensive Yukon with plastic wood glued onto the same Yukon stuff. Even the seats were the same...for 65K??? QX56 get one....you will be very happy.

  • Great Vehicle! - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

This is my 5th SUV and 2nd Infiniti - its by far the best full-sized luxury SUV now on the market! If you remove the headrests from the front seats, move them all the way forward and recline them, they form a long couch with the seats in the 2nd row.(My Infiniti QX4 also did this, and its a great feature.) The QX56 offers the ultimate in comfort, luxury, space, design, and drive. Better interior than the Escalade, which has a dated dash and no back-up camera. Better seat configuration and legroom than the competitors. Also, Infinitis service is great, and their warranty is a bit longer than that of their competitors.

  • German car from Japan - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is the first Japanese car I have owned that has the handling characteristics of my two Audis. This matches my Audi sedans and has much more power. Compare it to and Acura TLS and BMW and i think you will find this is a great buy.

  • Great bang for the buck - 2004 Infiniti I35
    By -

I bought my I35 in early June 04. I also have a 2003 QX4 which replaced a 2000 QX4. I have to say that the overall quality of Infiniti (by Nissan) have always been superior vehicles in overall reliability. Its been basically "gas and go". I have read numerous reviews regarding the poor turn ratius of the I35, but after a month and 1,500 miles I can say anything bad about the car. Its been fun to drive and as comfortable as any car Ive driven in this class. My only confussion is why Infiniti is dropping this model line.. If you are looking at I35s and you can find one I urge u to go for it. It cost me 27200 before taxes. An unbeatable price.

  • Seven Months and Still Loving It - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Well, Ive had my 2004 Infiniti G35X for seven months and it still turns my own head! I came out of the ATM the other day and thought, nice car. LOL.To date, I have only had one odd problem with the gas tank, it stopped allowing me to fill it when it still wasnt full. Infiniti found it to be defective and quickly replaced it without any problems. I can not say enough about the royal treatment that I have received from my Infiniti dealer when I take my car in for service. I get a new loaner car every time.
