Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

One Awesome G20 - 2000 Infiniti G20
By RRG20 - April 29 - 11:00 pmI bought my G20 new in 2000 and now its 2009 with 147K and runs like a champ. In the beginning it had the new car issues but after 80K its like it cant be stopped. I had put some performance upgrades like pulleys, intake, exhaust which greatly improved life and performance. If youre thinking of purchasing this car I would say yes.

I love this SUV - 2002 Infiniti QX4
By Lifes_reality - April 27 - 7:33 pmI wanted an SUV but did not want to look like everyone else. My choices were Infiniti SUV, BMW SUV , and Lexus SUv, the latter 2 you see on every block. I love this SUV it looks good, it is unique and drives like a car, clean. I own a 745 (BMW) and this SUV and although there are no words to describe the BMW, the QX4 makes the transition most comfortable.

Awesome Ride - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Mr-Bedlington - April 26 - 10:10 amMy Infiniti G35x is the best car I have ever owned. I used to be a Turbo Volvo owner until I took out the Infiniti for a test drive. When I got back I bought the car! I have had it for 4 years and still love the car. It is very quick and responsive. I find it very, very comfortable (as do my passengers). The cost to own it is reasonable although it only get 20 mpg no matter how aggressive or easy I drive. I will always be an Infiniti owner....That should say it all!

G-tastic - 2007 Infiniti G35
By M&M - April 26 - 3:33 amHave owned many European cars and if this does not scare them, I dont know what will. Car rockets from a stop jerking you into the seat for what seems to be a roller coaster ride. Rear seats are not really for a 6+ and if driver is 6+ only a small child can sit behind. Handles like a dream.

G35 Coupe - 2003 Infiniti G35
By CBEtravel - April 26 - 2:00 amBalance, performance, style.. this car is almost flawless. What a beauty. It really looks to me like a modern roadster with some classic coupe-roadster flavor. The red coupe is by far the color that suits the car best. The right kind of wheels make the G a lovely lovely bird. The G35 coupe is just a step faster than a GT mustang w/out any hop ups, so she is definately not the fastest car on the road, BUT she does look like a piece of heaven driving down the street. The interior is very enticing and has about every comfort you could dream up. The seats wrap around you like a seductive temptress. I give the G35 an overal rating of a 9... ENCORE, ENCORE!

bmwisajoke - 2004 Infiniti G35
By JPO1216 - April 26 - 2:00 amDrove several cars in search of this vehicle. Technically, this is my wifes car. She loved the body style and was sold. I had to do more research. Dont waste your time at the BMW or Mercedes Dealer. This is the best car I have ever driven. Took it in for a routine checkup and Infiniti service dept is fantastic. Blast to drive, powerful, EVERYONE stares at traffic lights, interior is plush. Back seat is roomy enough for two six foot adults to sit comfortably. Put the A/C on full blast and take off of an exit ramp. There is no difference in performance.

True Luxury Sport Sedan - 2003 Infiniti G35
By pfschim - April 25 - 10:00 amThe new Infiniti G35 offers me a true luxurey sport sedan with tremendous performace at a great value. The 260hp RWD performance and handling are in seemingly absolutely perfect balance. The G35 offer truly eye popping acceleration when pushed. Aesthetics, bon interior and exterior are wonderfully thought out. Looks, Speed, Handling, Comfort and Value ... Great Package !

Nice car, but bad reliability. - 2000 Infiniti I30
By BP - April 21 - 6:56 pmI bought this car about a year ago with 45k miles on it and have had problems ever since. Upon purchase I had to replace the belts (which is to be expected for a 7 year old car). What I didnt expect was the catalytic converter to fail (which Infiniti covers up to 80k miles), the A/C compressor to fail, all 6 coils needed to be replaced, the muffler was banging the bottom of the car and the CD player stopped working. At this point, about $2500 has been spent on repairs. Luckily we bought an extended warranty. My other car is a Nissan Altima and I really like it. But, I doubt Ill be buying another Infiniti.

Great technology and comfortable but lacking a heart... - 2013 Infiniti JX
By j4kofnova - April 20 - 8:15 pmHave spent a great deal of time behind the wheel of JX in comparison to Audi Q7. First off, hands down the JX has better technology (love the BCI!) than the Q7, and much move functional 3rd row. The JX is a great alternative to a mini-van if dont want that look, need the 3rd row and dont want the heft and size of a Armada/Yukon XL/QX56 type. From this perspecive it is much better than Q7. With that being said here is why I feel the JX falls waaaay short of the Q7. First, the JX feels sluggish and the CVT transmission never seems comfortable in gear. Takes alot of patience to get going. Second, Infinitis packaging is bizarre. Why do I have to get the theater package to get 20" wheels?
