Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Sleeper Sports Car - 2013 Infiniti G Sedan

Great performance in a conservative package. Great driving dynamics and loads of power. Exceptional fit and finish with quality material. Great reliability. Driving dynamics are better than he newer and more modern competition made by Infiniti.

  • Great car - 2007 Infiniti G35

Traded in a Saab 9-5. Test drove Audi A4 and Acura TL as well as Saab 9-5 but kept coming back to the G-35. Technology / electronics are amazing - back up camera, navigation system, etc. Car rides well and is FUN to drive with outstanding handling and power. Great styling. Mileage better than expected - getting 21 to 22 mpg on highway with cruise control.

  • Brand New and Love it!!! - 2005 Infiniti QX56

Just purchased the QX56 for my wife and we are loving it. IF you want BIG, this is what you need. This thing is HUGE, but drives like a much smaller vechile. We pondered over this or the Denali, and Im glad of the decision. This rides better, looks better and runs better, and Im a Chevy man from way back.

  • Its a great car! - 2003 Infiniti I35

Buying experience was excellent. Car is tight, quiet and fast. A little bigger than my previous 99 Maxima, and loaded with nice touches. Understated exterior design will surprise people. Looked at Volvo, Maxima, Saab, chose the best car at the best price.

  • Couldnt be happier - 2008 Infiniti G35

I admit Im biased, I wanted the G since I saw the first photos of the 2007 model. I waited out the lease on my previous vehicle, then searched for more than a month to find a 6spd Sport. I live in upstate NY and took delivery in late November at the start of snow season; after nearly 2 months, I have no regrets about buying RWD. A set of Blizzaks all around, plus VDC and a light touch on the throttle and clutch, and I havent had a problem at all. The G is everything I wanted; stylish, sophisticated, RWD, 6MT, with all the tech gadgets I could ask for. A friend rode in it and commented "Nice, but not a BMW or Audi." Which is exactly why I bought it.

  • Aint your mamas grocery getter! - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Im a housewife and mother of two. Ive always been somewhat of a car enthusiast having "grown up at the race tracks." I love this car because the sedan is sporty enough and performs like the sports car Ive always longed for, but yet is practical enough to haul 2 kids, 1 stroller and groceries for the week. The trunk space is enormous! Who says you need to give up your sense of style for sensibility when you have a family?? Ive never had a car perform and take corners the way this one does. It definitely gets my heart racing. This aint your mamas grocery getter!
