Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Fun to drive G35 - 2004 Infiniti G35
By coachpan - January 27 - 10:00 amAfter having a very bad experience with a new Acura, this Infiniti model has not let me down. Other than the fact the the more fun you want the more you pay in gas bills, this car is the best that I have ever owned!!! The 6 speed manual cannot be beat. I only wish tha I could hear the motor a litle more during excelleration.

Great Car - 2006 Infiniti G35
By Mike - January 26 - 4:56 pmI love driving this car. Ive had it about a month and have 1200 miles on it. I came from a 2001 Saab 9-3 with tons of torque steer to the G35 with zero torque steer! Ive found about 6 different ways to get home from work that involve twisty-curvey roads. The car has practically no body roll even when pushed hard. Ive only got to drive in the snow once but the all wheel drive made it a snap. Im always looking for another excuse to drive somewhere.

Girl Power - 2003 Infiniti G35
By jh345 - January 24 - 12:40 pmIve had my G35 for 2 years now, looked at the 3-series, Audi A4 & Maxima, liked the room and look of G35 better. Lots of power and style, love racing other cars esp. when they dont expect it from a woman. Although I recently thought about trading it in b/c of the 20 gallon tank, the defrost issue, snow and service costs, but every time I look at it or get into it I just cant!

Sophisticated Artistry meets cutting edge technology - 2013 Infiniti JX
By mckinnoncity - January 24 - 4:59 amMy wife and I think this car is awesome. Coming off of three consecutive Nissan Muranos we set out on a quest to find something "better than Murano." Spent several months shopping luxury cars and nothing was better than Murano. lincoln has "turn signals from ____ , cramped front passenger seat and you cant one hand it in a parking lot. Thats where we started our shopping. Explorer and the other lincoln dont have flat floors on the passenger side front. Same with the FX. Volvo has insufficient arm rests... and limited inventory. Cadillac SRX was falling apart in the show room. MDX and jeep are nice, but their trucks. Finally a car that is perfect. Leave it to Nissan to figure it out.

2016 QX60 Few months of Ownership - 2016 Infiniti QX60
By Neil Thomas - January 24 - 2:34 amI purchased this in March and so far the car has been just what I need. This is my first infiniti and I am extremely happy with it. I got a very good deal and I got the AWD with premium and + package which is so awesome and not too fancy. I got the Hermosa Blue with graphite interiors. Its perfect!! With the premium + package you get a lot of features such as illuminated strips of Infiniti on the doors, ambient lights, door lights. They have a nice design for the 2016. It looks really sporty and interiors are very comfortable. I was thinking of using regular fuel as company recommends Premium fuel, again its upto you. I have been putting 93 and 89 octane to get a average of 91 octane as this is recommended by Infiniti if you read the owners manual. I am very happy with this car and looking forward to post a review in 6 months. I got 3 years free oil service and tire rotations from Harte Infiniti Hartford. Tires I have now is AS Toyo Open Country A25 235/65/R18. I am planning to upgrade this to 235/55/R20 with Pirellis Scorpion Verde AS. Keep smiling and live life!!

Brand New Owner - 2003 Infiniti QX4
By kmscully - January 24 - 2:00 amBought a 2003 QX4 in late January. Last model year for this vehicle was appealing to me -- no "newer" models to make my look old. Great deal as dealers are incented to clear inventories. Always been an SUV/truck guy and the QX4 is the perfect balance between car and truck. Smooth, carlike ride and interior coupled with ability to carry "stuff" (generator, snowblower, feed bags...).
