Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I have been very pleased with the reliability and performance of the car. I have had zero problems with the vehicle and have not had to return to the dealer for any issues (have performed all the maintenance myself). Acceleration and braking are all excellent. The sport suspension and tires provide excellent handling without compromising comfort too much. Interior is very quiet at speed, The exhaust note is good without being too loud. Stereo has good clarity and volume although not tremendous base. I have never averaged under 20 mpg in everyday driving and have gotten 27 mpg on all interstate driving. The trunk is smallish and the interior does not have a lot of storage. Tires wear quickly.

  • My Favorite Truck EVER - 2005 Infiniti QX56

Ive driven luxury SUVs for years - this truck by far is my favorite. The second row legroom is comparable to an airplane seat in first class. The Navigation is system is the easiest one Ive used to date. The truck has phenomenal pickup and has an unbelievably small turning radius for its size. Parkings a breeze with the rear view camera and beeping alert. The interior is luxurious, yet understated. There is nothing "over- the-top" or flashy about this vehicle unlike many of its comparable counterparts on the road today.

  • I Love It - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car has been a lot of fun. People stop and ask me about it all the time. I have the Coupe 6MT. I have not had any problems with any mechanical, electrical or structural items. The paint is of very high quality and looks amazing. The brakes generate a lot of dust/dirt, but they stop you on a dime! I am leasing this vehicle, but anticipate this one being a keeper for my collection.

Great car for the money! Comfortable, easy to handle, with plenty of power. Gas mileage is a problem though. getting 15 miles per gallon highway street combined! Dont believe what you read about gas mileage cause it is not accurate!Sound system bose is amazing!!! Worth the extra money. No input for i pod though. Handles well in the snow and ice very steady and safe to drive!

  • Better than Expected! - 2002 Infiniti QX4

I totaled out my Lexus RX300, and while it was a great car it doesnt compair to the Qx4. It is a fantastic drive, responsive, comfortable vehicle. The controls for the stereo, heat and air, lights, everything are very easy to find and use. The backseat is big enough for my 510 little brother to sit in comfortably behind me. I couldnt be happier and would reccomend this vehical to anyone! Its fantastic and Im a very picky person.

  • One of the best Japanese imports - 2007 Infiniti G35

Ive been driving this car for approx 3 months now and I still catch myself smiling each time I enter the car. I was actually set on buying the 335i, but decided to test drive the 07 6mt before making a final decision. Unlike the very industrial look of the Bimmers interior, the G had that sense of warmness that I didnt really feel in the other cars I tested (IS 350, TL type S, A4, S4). Besides the IS 350 and 335i, the G simply trumps its competition when it comes to delivering raw power. I didnt think I could love the car anymore. That is until I started modding the car. So far... exhaust, upgraded springs/shocks, 20" wheels... and much more to come.

  • Great Bang for the Buck - 2003 Infiniti I35

Interior is low key put plush. The ride is smooth, while retaining a good level of road feel. Acceleration is awesome! The dealership has been great, though Ive only had the car in for minor service. Highly recommended.

  • Cheap Thrill - 2003 Infiniti G35

Have owned my G35 sedan for 2 months. Car is absolutely awesome. Drives and handles like nothing Ive ever driven before. Test drove 330i prior to buying and was no brainer to pay $12K+ less for comparable performance. G35s acceleration is exhilarating...you always hope youre first on line at the traffic light. The drive to work is actually fun now!
