Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • A smile everytime I drive - 2004 Infiniti G35

This car is Great. I love driving it all the time, and everytime I or someone very convincing drives it theres a smile on ones face. This car is addictive and seems to enjoy being driven hard and aggressive. I cant stop smiling when I drive or even think about it.

  • Excellent value - 2002 Infiniti Q45

Previous car was Lexus LS400. Q45 excellent value for $7,000 less without giving up anything with the possible exception of a softer ride... could be a function of the 17" tires versus the 16" ones for Lexus. Exterior design more attractive than Lexus LS430. Infiniti sales and service dealership outstanding facility.

  • Amazing Vehicle - 2001 Infiniti QX4

I just bought this vehicle used. It is amazing. It has plenty of power. The 4 wheel drive is really good. I love the auto feature. about the mileage, what do you expect. Its a truck based SUV 4X$, not some whimpy hybrid or sedan based SUV.

Super performance. 350Z in four doors. Will meet or beat almost any sports sedan / most sport coupes under $40k in all performance categories. Acceleration, braking, handling, and comfort are superior to any in class, including BMW 330, Audi A4, Cadillac CTS, Mercedes C320, Acura TL, Saab 93, Lexis IS300. Great price for all of this power and luxury. The most original styling in its class.

  • Great car!! Fun to Drive!! - 2004 Infiniti G35

A pleasure to drive. The handling is super. I just wish there were more windy/hilly roads in Indianapolis. The sport suspension package gives this car the extra handling ability and its power really makes a difference when needed. The styling is beautiful. None of the other luxury sedans have anything comparable. I test drove used (2 - 3 yrs) Mercedes 240, Lexus E300, Jaguar X-Type, and Volvo 50 series and the G35 was hands- down better.

Great performance, firm ride, easy to use controls, it feels secure and comfortable. Well designed interior and exterior. It feels like youre driving a piece of art. Averaging 20 mpg, have seen 25 on the highway.

  • Excellent Sport Machine - 2008 Infiniti G35

This car was purchased from my company for $10,000 less than blue book. I had my eye on a sports car, but with a luxury look. This was it. I had an Infiniti QX56, but with gas prices, I just could not afford to let the tags, insurance, and now gas eat away at my pocketbook. This car is fun to drive. This car is awesome. My G35 Sport has the automatic/manual/paddle shifters on the steering wheel which makes this car more fun to drive. The only thing is that since I drive this car fast, I wish it had a bigger gas tank.

  • Traded in my 05 TL for an 05 - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

In November I bought a new 2005 Acura TL. It was beautiful inside and out but it drove badly. Torque steer, Brakes pulled, vibration in pedal and steering wheel at speed. I just traded it in on a 2005 G35. I love the G35. It drives properly. (keep in mind I have been driving a Mecedes E Class for the last ten years so my idea of properly is RWD) I find that the G35 drives a lot like my My Mercedes but it has a lot more power and is more noisy. anyway, I love the G35 so far.
