Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

The G35 is best car Ive ever owned, considering the acceleration, handling, ride, stopping distance, size, quality and styling. The scarcity is also a plus for me, since I bore easily when I see too many of any style car. The dealer also treat you first class. It is the total package.

had a 97 maxima gle and loved it, went a little more upscale this time and its well worth the few extra bucks. Same performance in a luxury package that impresses everyone as well as it impresses me.

Infiniti has done something that I never thought possible, pulled me out of BMWs 3 series and into the G35. The performance that this cars brings to the table is mind blowing (makes the 3 series appear sluggish). This is also the 1st time a Japanese car was able to turn my head with styling. I may never go back.

  • Excellent Ride... Fun to Drive!! - 2008 Infiniti G35

I have been looking at the usual culprits in this class of vehicle for about 2 1/2 months now -- BMW, Lexus and Infiniti (both M35 and G35). I LOVED the G35 from the time I sat down until the time I left the dealership last! To get the MOST enjoyment from the car, I definitely recommend the Sport option for the added bonus of the seat upgrade! Granted the different sized tires may be a problem for some, but I have had to buy sport tires on my last 2 vehicles so am used to the cost! Regardless of some of the other "complaints" on the car, the gas mileage is a non-issue...unless you are coming from a Honda Civic or Mini- Cooper! 20 MPG city/25-28 MGH HWY is great for a PERFORMANCE SEDAN

Leased the car mainly becuase I dont think the resale value is there. I looked at the BMW 540i and almost purchase one, but the price difference between the M45 and the BMW 540 was too significant and could not justify it to myself. Im glad I got the M45, I think the M45 is the best value out there. Its has more power then the Lexus 430 (previously owned). Its a nice car and a great value.

  • Love this car - 2008 Infiniti QX56

I purchased this 2008 Infiniti over the summer and have had a few months to drive it. I love it. We looked at EVERY SUV in this category and for the comfort, technology and price nothing can compete with it. I feel like I am in a living room with every option available to me. The third row is a dream to use and to sit in. The 1st/2nd row has a ton of room. I love that the navigation can be used while driving because it is a voice navigation. The voice also understands me! It is really an amazing vehicle.

  • My spouses fun to drive car! - 2004 Infiniti Q45

My husband is responsible for the purchase of our Q45. This is our 2nd "Q" and it is proving to be as maintenance free and dependable as our first. The car is very comfortable and enjoyable to drive as well as being a passenger in. It has a very powerful engine, superb fit and finish and excellent handling. Compared to the other autos in its price range, I think that the "Q" offers a better value for the money!
