Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I this is an all round great car. Very quite and comfortable but also really fast when you need it. The all wheel drive X model handles great.

  • Great SUV - 2001 Infiniti QX4

I love my QX4. It handles great on the highway and the performance is good. I like the design of both the interior and exterior. I really like the xenon headlights but have had them adjusted twice and they still do not shine far enough ahead. Also, the auto four wheel drive in excellent for highway use. Having the vehicle serviced is a joy due to Infinitys loaner vehicle program. I would defenitly buy another one but do not recommend Towbin Infinity in Las Vegas. They are a joke!

  • Great car for the money - 2000 Infiniti I30

Bought this car with 77k miles. Up until 97k there wasnt a problem. At 98k I needed all new wheel bearings, radiator was leaking, trans. Is leaking. Did tun up and air filter. With discounts from mechanic friend, I spent $800. Now, at 108k I notice a little slip in the trans. Between 1st and 2nd.

  • A perfect 10 (almost) !! - 1999 Infiniti I30

I bought my i30t a little over 3 months back with 52K miles on it. After 3 months and another 4K miles, I am still in awe with it! The engine is silky smooth with a great acceleration. I think its the great torque that lets the car cruise at 65mph with less than 2500 rpm on the Tachometer. All in all its been a great car with just enough pep and just enough class and just enough style for me to fall in love with it...nothing over done, nothing left out (except for a few inches for my legs)

  • It is just the best - 2008 Infiniti QX56

I bought this big SUV days ago and it is the best car I ever had. The comfort, technology, engine response and features are way ahead any other SUV at this moment. The new features on the 08 model are exactly the ones I expected and the reason why I never bought a QX before. My previous car was an FX35 which I loved too, but it was kind of small for my family. I highly recommend this vehicle for a test drive, I am sure you wont be disappointed. The ride is much better than the previous version with the improved tire quality (Michelin) and 20" rims. The traffic feature helps you to avoid congested areas and is easy to use. The downside is fuel economy.

  • G37 2008 - 2008 Infiniti G37

Have 5K miles and love the car. Hard to see well with the mirrors. Have a big dent in the cool looking aluminum inside door handle where seatbelt flung back and tagged it. Goes fast enough for me. Happy with it. Got a speeding ticket my first month and I wasnt even speeding. Cop had new Dodge Charger interceptor. My first sports car. Wheels get caught in ruts in interstate, and have to constantly readjust when driving. Moving GPS map is very helpful. Cell phone to car interface is way cool, so easy to use. My teenager kids love it too. Dont like speedometer, missing many in between numbers.

  • Wow -- what a car - 2007 Infiniti G35

This is an amazing car. I had to wait for mine to come in for 2 months and for the past 45 days the dealership gave me a 06 G35 to drive -- I did not like it much but when I picked up my new G35 (prem, nav, tires) I was blown away. It is a beautiful car with tons of power and luxury. I got black on black and it looks awesome. Although I have always loved the BMW I just see way too many on the road and the design looks stale to me. Good job infiniti - you have made a huge leap and I bet will sell a ton of the these cars!
