Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

The 2004 Infiniti G35 is a remarkable car. I tested out the G35, 330i, A4, and TL and this vehicle was so much better. It has more power and the most stylish exterior and interior. The cabin is very quiet and smooth and the G35 can handle all the twists and turns. The AWD is very well and it handled very well in snow and rain and on dry bumpy surfaces. Its definetly the best Infiniti to date and the best in its class.

I traded a 01 BWM 330 for the G35 after having to take the BMW to the dealership quarterly for various problems. The interior of the G35 is somewhat cheap. Additionally, I had an interior rattle on delivery that took three trips to the dealership for service to settle. The exterior of the G35 coupe is beautiful. I have had multiple compliments on the car (silver w/18" wheels)at the gas station, grocery store, etc. I must admit I loved my BWM but was disappointed with it...in fact...the G35 came out the year I bought the BMW...but I wanted to wait until the bugs were worked out the system. So far...wish I had bought the G35 in the first place!

This car is by far one of the best values for a performance car. It combines both performance and quality and reliability all into one with a sexy design. Its closest competitor is the BMW 3 series but it beats it in price by 6 thousand dollars (330i) as well as design.

  • This Car Rocks! - 2005 Infiniti G35

Began leasing my 05 Infiniti G35 (5-speed/auto)in Feb. Lots to love about it... amazing performance, relatively comfortable, decent gas mileage and it looks FANTASTIC! My fave thing is the way it handles, especially tight taking curves. Im driving the car - its not driving me...very responsive, in general. Turn the key and it roars! This baby is a real head- turner...youll LOVE it!

  • My M45 - 2003 Infiniti M45

Three months into my new M45 , I am generally pleased. Dash layout , road noise ( wind and underbody )and transmission delay are all points of concern . ...For $45K I should have gone with a BMW 5 series.......

  • 2nd "G" and Still Loving It... - 2012 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

Prior had 08 G35xS. Bulletproof reliability and loved the car overall. MPGs were not the best and some road/wind noise. Recently stepped into a 12 G37xS. Even though they look similar, a lot of smaller improvements to make car even better. I am also avg. 3mpg better doing same drive. Writing this for anyone looking for a great used car value that appreciates sporty sedan vs. a Camry/Accord. Probably still the best overall value in a 4dr. sports sedan with AWD. Road/Wind noise improved on G37 and much quieter on Hwy. with 7spd auto vs 5spd as engine revs are lower. Suspension seems better over bumps vs. G35 and more solid. Steering lightened up some at low speeds vs. G35.

  • Great car...understated and unappreciated - 2016 Infiniti Q50
    By -

I have been in the market for a new car for a few months and kept coming back to the Q50S "RS400". This is the best bang for the buck in the industry. It is a rocket!! I was also looking and driving the Lexus GS350 F-Sport, BMW 535i M-sport, Audi A6, MB E400, and I kept coming back to the Infiniti. MSRP was $60,660 every option available and out the door for $52,675 so there is room to negotiate. Good luck finding another vehicle with this much tech and power for that price. Highly recommended!!

  • G37X Will Not Disappoint - 2009 Infiniti G37

Just took delivery on an 09 blue slate off the lot and drove it home last week. What a machine. I traded in an 04 Honda Accord V6 for this and could not be happier. Still waiting to see how the mileage shakes out, but I really do not anticipate a car like this getting 25 MPG, more like 20-22. I was worried about the back seat being too small for my family. I have two young boys, only one in a booster seat and there is room for both of them and an adult if need be. This would not be practical for the main family car, but it is a great second car and one that will turn heads.

  • Amazing Truck - 2008 Infiniti QX56
    By -

The truck is great, I purchased it to replace my 07 EXT due to a baby on the way. I needed something with better crash ratings. The funny thing is that two days after purchasing the truck, a 75FT tree fell across the highway and I had to go through it at 75MPH. If I were to have the GM, I would most likely not be typing this. This truck saved my wifes and my life. I added a remote starter on the truck. A bit pricey, but extremely useful. Also added an I-Pod attachment that plays video and made it so that I can control the GPS and watch video while driving.
