Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

this is the best car i have ever owned. the inside is so much nicer than the Navigator, escalade, and toyota seqoua. I love the ride it is very smooth and you can barely hear anythong outside, the engine is very quiet for its size. I have gotten alot of compliments on how nice it is. I love the rear view camera the intelligent cruise control and the electronic rear end door. It is the best car ever made I love it. I have had it for a while now and i havent had one problem with it . This car has my vote.

  • a total package - 2003 Infiniti G35

Car has great eye-grabing beauty, which is only surpassed by its sheer driving pleasure. It is a constant test of willpower to keep the car within acceptable speed ranges. There has been some criticism of the dash controls but after a little time in the car, I find the controls to be quite intuitive and easy to use

  • What I car and worth the money - 2003 Infiniti G35

Before buying this car, I was looking into the BMW 3 and 5 series, Lexus GS 300, and Audi A4. I test drove this car and it took me only 10 minutes to decide that this was the car I wanted. The horsepower and look of this car are one of the best in my opinion. From the front it looks like a porshe and on the rear side looks like an Audi.

  • G-35 - Breath Taking - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is the best new car I have owned. The G-35 is to todays performance sedans what the GTO was to yesterdays muscle cars. It has raised the bench mark at a fair price. I have the Aero package and the ride is much smoother than I had expected.Acceleration will surprise both you and the kid in the nitros Honda. Braking is at the level that could have your "I am hurt" lawyer planning his retirement. The interior is comfortable and reasonably quiet. However it is the exterior styling that still takes my breath away - if the G-35 were a woman, it would be an over-the-top 10! Take one for a test drive - you may not want to give it back.

  • Much Better Than Expected - 2007 Infiniti QX56

I inherited this 4WD Beast when my Mother passed away. Not the SUV I would have purchased, but I am overly impressed. We named it the QE2, a great road vehicle, solid as a rock, very comfortable, 18mpg and my Suburban does NO BETTER, and NOWHERE NEAR the truck this one is. QUALITY ALL THE WAY. I highly recommend this truck.

  • Im in love! - 2006 Infiniti QX56

I got the Infiniti QX56 - 4WD from my husband as a gift. I drove a Lincoln Towncar before I got my Infiniti. But I just feel in love with the QX56. I love the style, the power, the features and the head turning this vehicle gives. This is the first time I own and drive an SUV and I love it. The price is excellent for all the features this great car has to offer!!!

  • I love my G35 - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

In the past I have purchased three and five series BMWs and have been happy with except for the constant repairs. This time I decided to get a Japanese car so I looked at the ES330, the TL and the Maxima. The first time I drove the G35 I was sold. It handles great and has lots more power than my bimmers did.

  • Fun to drive, but... - 2011 Infiniti FX
    By -

Performance, comfort, reliability, design - all great. However, it is the luxury items that disappoint. First, the cooled seats are very hit or miss. Some days I can really feel the cooling, other days, in only a dri-fit shirt and shorts - cant feel a thing. The navigation - while it looks great, Infiniti has done a poor job in translating the data into the GPS system. I have had many addresses, some in major towns, others in minor, not show up. And what good is a GPS system when you already know where you are going? Finally, the Bluetooth is average, at best. I constantly get comments from people that they can barely hear or understand me. Love the ride, not so much the "luxury"

  • All Around Awesome - 2009 Infiniti G37
    By -

I have had the car for about five months. I love it! For the money, you cant beat it. It is fun to drive (the performance is amazing). The creature comforts are great. It also looks stunning. If you look at other hard top convertibles, no other make comes close to making the hard top look like the coupe the way Infiniti does. All around awesome car.

  • Love It, Love It - 2003 Infiniti I35

Flawless performance so far. Power up the wazoo. Smooooooth riding. Great sound system. Comfortable. Not flashy but having subdued elegance. Great roominess for family trips.
