Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Still in the Honeymoon Phase, but Great So Far - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan

I was in the market for a new car, due to the approaching lease end on my Honda Accord Coupe, which I liked a great deal. Infiniti was not initially at the top of my list. I test drove a near fully loaded G37X near the end of May - Sport, Nav, Premium packages included, and was quite pleasantly surprised at the ride, handling, build quality, and technical sophistication. The dealer made an very aggressive lease offer and I took it. I have the car just about 3 weeks, and am very pleased. Ride, handling, and interior comfort are all just outstanding. The value for the money on the G series sedan is seriously impressive. There are not many other makes can touch Infiniti in this category.

As a college student use to driving all the time, this car more than makes the ride pleasent. When i was looking to buy a car, i look at BMW, Jaguar, Lexus, MB, and one ride in this car sold me. The navigation system was so easy to use and so helpful in my transition to a new city. Takeing trips makes it fun and we can fit five screaming college students comfortably, with an awesome bose system.

This car is an absolute thrill to drive. It does everything you want it to do better than you expect it to do it. The value you get is unbeatable, it better in everyway the CLK and the 330ci and you can use the money you save to have the car detailed weekly. Buy this car and you will have no regrets!!!

I have a Caribbean Blue G35 Sedan W/leather, Premium package, Navigation Package, and Winter Package and a I LOVE it. Getting the Premium Package is well worth it, it gives you everything a person could want on a car. The Bose Audio System ,which comes with the premium package, sound great and has loads of power. The Navigation Package works great and is so cool. For anyone who lives in the chicago area and is thinking about buying a G35 go to Infiniti of Orland Park they are great and they treat you wonder. plus I good a great deal on mine.

  • Having some fun! - 2009 Infiniti G37

Have been driving my G37S for 2 months - still putting a smile on my face! Acceleration with the manual transmission is a hoot, and sport suspension / handling is fabulous. Looked at the BMW 335, and besides the fact that there wasnt a single non- black manual transmission to be found ANYWHERE, and the fact that the same features would be $10k more, and the fact that it doesnt have that awesome Bose sound system, the G37 Sport 6 speed was still my favorite. Even fit the kids in the back, so its practical, too (ok, Im a roadster convert, so its all relative). I LOVE this car!

  • G35, the envy of your friends - 2005 Infiniti G35

This car is a head turner. The sport edition has a wonderful growl to it. Power is never an issue. The car has a solid feel. Handling is top rate. I drove a Z before purchasing a G35 and the G35 puts the Z to shame. This is one top rate car. If you are in the market for a sports car but want more amenities, the G35 is what you should be looking at.

I test drove the BMW 3 series and the Lexus IS 250 before buying my Infiniti. The Infiniti had the best ride and the most power out of the 3 cars I drove. The BMW interior was plain and the Lexus had no power. So far my car has been a complete pleasure to own! I got mine in black and everywhere I go people compliment the cars looks.

  • OMG! LURVE IT=) - 2012 Infiniti G Sedan

After 3yrs of pining and researching and pouring over reviews of the Lexus and Audi, my husband suggested this car and the decision was made and purchased within 24 hours. I hadnt considered Infiniti at all but when my husband and I saw the Spring Event Sale, I went the next day to view it. Long story short, I loved it from the start. Its sexy, fast, comfortable, and great buy and the sound system is awesome! My husband now calls me a "Thumper" b/c I all of a sudden like my music with a lot of bumping bass. I got this car for my 40th birthday and I really couldnt be happier! Everyday I fall more in love with this car. The best part is I dont see my car at every turn/light!

  • A Pearl of a Car - 2003 Infiniti G35

The lease on our car was up and we went shopping! We drove Mercedes C-class, Volvo, Lexus (ES 400 and IS300), Audi and BMW 3series. We were all set to buy a BMW when we had trouble with some rather arrogant and game-playing salesmen, so we walked away from the deal. Boy, are we glad we did! The Infiniti G35 is by far the best car in this class both in performance, features and "bang for your buck" that we drove. The 260 hp engine simply knocks you off your feet and the ride is smooth as silk, yet sporty. We could not be happier with the car in looks and performance. It deserves all the accolades it has received.

  • 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe - Solid and Fun - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

The 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan has great power and sharp looks. The car is very low to the ground, and I ran up on a curb, scratching under the front bumper. (Ouch). The driver seat has the feeling of a jet cockpit, and I feel in total control. There is a blind spot in the back as the car slopes down, but is managable. The suspension is tight, but Ive noticed more road noise than with my old Maxima. Not much room in the trunk, but that is not why you would buy this car. Overall, Im happy with my purchase, and could not find a better "mid life crisis" coupe at this price.
