Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • just bought the g35 sports coupe! - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car is sooooo much fun to drive. I seriously look forward to getting in it every time. Just starting up that engine and hearing that low, gravelly roar come from the tail pipes is enough to get me excited. IT drives like a true sports car - ive driven the 330ci and i think this car is way better. The inside is beautiful let alone the georgeous exterior body moldings. If you dont care who you have to pick up dont get the four door - splurge that little bit extra for the coupe - im telling you its the way to go.

  • Just get it! - 2003 Infiniti G35

Have had the G35 for almost 2 months and it is still an amazing car to drive. It has so many good qualities in its class. Too bad the BMW die- hards will not give up their tunnel vision, but for an apples-to-apples comparison, nothing touches this car. Remember this is a $30K car when well equipped, so it should be compared to the BMW 325i and the Mercedes C240, and in both of these comparisons the G35 blows them away! Not even close. If you want to get close to this level, you need to up your price to the $40K level with these competitors. All this and Infiniti quality and reliability – not getting to be buddies with the shop manager.

The car is tight light fast and resposnsive. No squeaks or rattles and is a fun drive. The only drawback is that that the contols set on the doors are at a level that cuts into the leg at the angle and height they are fixed at.

  • Definitely a dream car! - 2007 Infiniti G35

Just wanted to say even though I didnt get all the features I wanted such as navigation and bluetooth, I am very happy with this car. I have owned Porsches, BMWs and Chryslers. This car beats them all.

  • Best value for the money! - 2003 Infiniti I35

Had previously owned a 99 I-30 - what a wonderful car, but I had no idea how much fun and what a great driving experience could be had until I purchased my 2003 I-35 new in May 03. This is such a great car! Fun to drive - very reliable - reasonable on oil changes/maintenance costs - it has been the best value for the money of all the cars I have purchased over the last 45 years of driving experience. It reminds me of the early Nissan Maximas - a really great sports sedan! It gives so much back to the driver. Based on current offerings in the automobile markets, Im keeping this car until the wheels drop off - at least another 10 years! And yes, it runs OK on regular gas - 26 mpg hwy!

  • M45 is IT - 2006 Infiniti M45

This is the car to own if in the market for something under 60,000. I drove the RL, the BMW 530, and believe it or not the Corvette. Though the Corvette was nice it was not really practicable for the family situation. The power this thing has beats any others in the same bunch. With the Acura everything is standard, but there are no options to get. This thing I have has the DVD player in the roof and on the dash. With rear wheel drive you have no need for SH-AWD. It has a camera for backing up, and trust me if you have never seen this check it out. Intelligent cruise control another thumbs up it really works. Lane changing thingy needs some work. Headlights WOW. POWER POWER POWER

  • Outstanding Value and Performance - 2002 Infiniti I35
    By -

Recently purchased a 2002 midnight blue Infiniti I35 from a private owner and am very pleased. The 3.5 Liter V-6s 255 HP engine is highly responsive, yet very quiet and smooth running. The soft tan leather interior, plush carpeting, and space age instrumentation, are immaculate. The A/C is ice cold. You would never know this vehicle has 92,000 miles on it. A true looker! I drove a 1998 INFINITI I30 for 197,000 miles until the timing chain went. Enjoyed that very reliable car too, but this vehicle is so much more roomier and comfortable. INFINITI definitely improved the model tenfold in introducing the I35. OUTSTANDING!
