Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

G35 is FUN to Drive! - 2005 Infiniti G35
By jburme - September 1 - 9:30 pmJust purchased the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe (5 speed/auto. So far, so good! LOVE the look of the car and the looks I get driving it! It handles very well on the road, especially evident on turns... very tight! The minute I turn the key in the ignition, Im reminded of the power (3.5 liter/V6/280 HP)I may as well have just heard the announcer say, "Start your engines!" Interior is comfy, but may be a difficult for someone a bit larger and, unless its an emergency, Id forget about offering a ride to a third person. The back seat is small! The Bose sound system rocks and it seems to be providing me with fairly good gas mileage. All things considered - this is a great car for the money!

Excellent Value - 2016 Infiniti QX50
By John E. - September 1 - 8:59 pmIm relatively new to Infiniti/Nissan. My first Infiniti was a Q50 that I REALLY enjoyed driving. It was quiet (except for the growl during start up and acceleration), incredibly fast, and it looked like a James Bond escape vehicle. For my lifestyle, however, it wasnt very practical as I kayak 4 days a week. Trading off between my Jeep was getting a bit much. I wanted to capture a similar driving experience in an SUV. Considering all vehicle makes, I went back to Infiniti for the QX50. It shares the same 3.7 liter V-6 as the Q60 which I loved, has a rack and the ability to store items in the back. Where the Q60 would jump off the line, the QX50 has a more subtle acceleration. The QX50 will perform when you want it to, though - both in acceleration and handling. The QX50 is also much easier to get in and out of the cockpit of the Q60. If you want a sports car, but your life demands an SUV, the QX50 is a very solid choice.

Waited too long for the fun! - 2003 Infiniti G35
By SkippyJ - August 31 - 2:00 amI did not want another crappy front driver and I waited after hearing of the performance. I was rewarded-you bet ya. It is fun to blast Bimmers and the local street racers. My only complaint is the drivers seat sits too high. I got it with winter pack & premium, also added aero. The dealer cut a good deal- no games just a price that was $1800 below the MSRP. The Bose stereo sounds great-better than others have stated and finish and quality of all partsis great. I hope everyone has a much fun as I am having. I am a 6 footer and the car fits me just fine-rear seat can be a bit tight behind me.

2004 Infiniti - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Bruce Hether - August 30 - 4:26 pmThe G35 is a perfect sports sedan that is reasonably priced. One of the best features of the car is the handling. Drives on curves like its glued. The G35 has one of the largest back seats and trunks in the category.

Best in class - 2009 Infiniti G37
By Colonel35 - August 26 - 4:03 pmI cross-shopped the 328i (xDrive), TL-SHAWD, A4 2.0, and IS-250AWD. None of them came close to offering the same blend of performance, handling, features, technology, and usability as the G37xS. The engine is extremely powerful (pulling away with four passengers up a hill is still easy to elicit a "Whoa" from everyone on board), the chassis handling BMW-like (read: near-perfect), the technologies (voice control, music box, swiveling headlights, laser cruise, traffic gps, etc. etc.) both cool and easy-to-use, the seats bolster you in like some high-luxe sport cars, and the overall experience is extremely satisfying and fun.

Love my new G35 - 2005 Infiniti G35
By El Zaphod - August 25 - 11:16 pmThree weeks ago I bought a new 2005 Acura TL. It was beautiful inside and out but it drove badly. Torque steer, Brakes pulled, vibration in pedal and steering wheel at speed. I just traded it in on a 2005 G35. I love the G35. It drives properly. (keep in mind I have been driving a Mecedes E Class for the last ten years so my idea of properly is RWD) I find that the G35 drives a lot like my My Mercedes but it has a lot more power and is more noisy. anyway, I love it so far.

This babe is an eye-catcher! - 2003 Infiniti M45
By Kenny M - August 25 - 10:00 amIve put on over 5000 miles on the M in just under 3 months...simply put...its a blast to drive! Got it fully loaded except for chrome wheels (looked too gaudy). Got the windows tinted immediately and let me tell you...this car gets looks!! Havent seen a single one on the road yet...feels like a custom-made car. I almost went with the Mercedes C32 AMG and changed my mind...so glad I did.

Sport Coupe Best Bang for Buck - 2003 Infiniti G35
By astral112 - August 25 - 10:00 amThis car will get lots of attention and admiring glances, even from cops. Ive driven mine for six months and have had no problems whatsoever. It has scary power and handles like a dream. The only car I drove (and I tested a bunch) that compared was the BMW 330 and that cost a lot more and didnt look as good. Besides, in the G35 you dont see yourself coming and going like you do in the BMW. The back seat is actually usable and the sport styling doesnt suffer because of it. Handling and power are the biggest pros. No real cons.

wow - 2003 Infiniti G35
By Jamz - August 25 - 10:00 amIve had my g35 coupe since January. The Obsidian Black is just a flat out beautiful car. What a blast to drive. Ive driven a 330 coupe for the past year, and I have absolutely no regrets in choosing this car over the BMW. Cant tell you how many heads the car turns every time I take it out of the garage. And the car performs and handles as good, if not better than the BMW. Every time I take it out, I find the long way home just to get a few extra minutes driving it.

Better than the Competition - 2011 Infiniti QX56
By Houston P - August 25 - 5:26 amTraded a 2007 Escalade for it. I do not miss the Escalade at all. The advanced electronic package is barely shy of an airplane. So is the external camera array. Very except cal at the beginning, I am using all the driving assist options now. Smooth ride and, finally, a good style. I own luxury cars since 2000, including Lexus, Porsche and Cadillac. This is the best car I ever had. Tried towing a boat and did it effortlessly.
