Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

GreaT!!! - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Jasmine - September 30 - 2:36 pmAmazing acceleration, 280 horse power and the sound of the engine and exhaustÂ… Worth every penny. Strong, sexy, fast, quick, reliable. I still dont understand why it is not as expensive as it should be, but good for me. Its been 9 months Ive been driving Ininiti G35 Coupe, and I appreciate each and every minute of it. This car is better for those who know about cars and appreciate a powerful engine. Bose sound system is very good, support suspension makes it even sweeter. This is just a great car, its performance will amaze you. SmoothÂ… For those who know how to drive stick shift and dont mind driving in the traffic, manual is much stronger... I test drove it, and was amazing.

One great used car out there - 2000 Infiniti G20
By KCB1 - September 30 - 7:10 amBought it a month ago (Touring, 5 spd) for around 6K. With 6K, choices are limited but I can say a used G20 would be way better than other car in this price range. I am very satisfy with this purchase.

Great Value - 2004 Infiniti I35
By ugetcaughtupinthe - September 28 - 4:50 pmBefore buying this car I didnt know anything about Infinitis, now I dont know that I will buy anything else. The ride is so smooth, the comfort is amazing, and the features never stop pleasing. I regularly drive from New Haven, CT to Boston, MA, (about 2 hours) and I never get bored or get stiff. The climate control kicks in immediatly from cold to hot or vice versa. It accelerates quickly even at highway speeds. There is a huge trunk and plenty of rear space for normal sized people. I cannot stress enough how pleasing this car is. Go to a dealership and take one out overnight, and you will understand what I am talking about.

Great Car, Lifetime Impact - 2005 Infiniti G35
By mark2013 - September 28 - 6:25 amBack in October I bought an 05 G35x and was a great choice. Ive been through 3 generations of Infinitis and never had any problems. Since mine was bought through an auction when it was taken in for routine maintenance there were all the service records were maintained. Not saying everyone will agree about how great a G35x is but in my opinion a fun & great car compared to alot of the higher end luxury cars.

07 G35 Sedan - 2007 Infiniti G35
By G35 Houston - September 27 - 4:56 pmThe new G is fast, and handles great. The Sport model suspension is firm without being harsh, and the paddle shifters for the 5AT are excellent. Inside all of the amenities are within easy reach, and the layout (especially the gauges) is outstanding. Sport seats are comfortable, and hold you snugly through any maneuver :-) The trunk space is pretty limited, and the rear seats dont fold down :-(, so theres room for even large suitcases, but not wide items. Fuel economy is pretty dismal, but to be fair I drive it in manual shift mode all the time, and rarely shift up to 5th except on the highway. Great car, great price, Im delighted.

What a blast! - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan
By motorman5 - September 26 - 3:30 pmThis car is really a joy to drive. The handling and power are amazing. While I dont miss winter, I am looking forward to see how it handles in the snow. Interior is great - all the bells and whistles I need. Engine is a little loud at takeoff, but I dont mind - it lets you know its there and sounds like a muscle car. Once youre cruising, its pretty quiet. Got the premium package and Nav system - which is really easy to use and works well. This car is a great value for everything it offers, and I get a lot of compliments.
