Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Our first luxury car - 2008 Infiniti G35

My wife and I bought the G35 as a "retirement" car in anticipation of taking long road trips. We have been extremely satisfied with the comfort and convenience of this car. We particularly like the navigation system and other technology features, such as the color back-up camera and CD changer. This is our first "luxury" vehicle and we enjoy the feeling when we hand the car over to the parking attendant at our favorite upscale restaurants in Atlanta.

  • Cant stop driving it!! - 2003 Infiniti M45

Ive had this car for 3 weeks now, and Ive gotten so many looks on the street! No one really knows what it is yet and thats what makes it even more fun!! The engine is really quiet even when you push it hard, and if youre not used to this kind of power, whiplashes wont be scarce events. The interior is beautiful, and it offers so much more than the BMWs and Benzs and Lexuss of the same price range. As for fuel economy, my previous car was a 1982 Buick Electra V8, so the M45 sipps gas compared to that. Not saying it has great fuel economy, but I just dont think its that bad.

This car rocks! This is the true definition of a luxury/sports car. This has to be one of the best looking sport coups out there. The styling is very fresh and exceptionally appealing to every sports car fan. It comes with a powerful 280hp engine that is so smooth. I opted for the 18inch rims that come with Brembo brakes for the enthusiast in me! Great interior styling with the hints of aluminium and the carcoal leather trim This car for the price is unbetable. i hghly recomand it!

  • Good car for the $$$ - 2007 Infiniti G35

This car is worth the money just in the horsepower alone. The gas mileage is not as bad as most say. I have been averaging over 20 mpg (approx 22 mpg) switching between premium and regular unleaded gas every other tank (keeps costs down). Great car!!

  • You will spend, oh yes. - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

Traded in an older Camry for the Infiniti because my wife thought it was "ugly." However in 4 years I spent less on that car then Ive spent in the past 9 months on the I30. Had it checked out before we bought it, all systems were a go. However within 2 months the alternator went out. Shortly after that the car started misfiring, and it started running poorly and jerking when at a stop light. Had the engine coils replaced along with the spark plugs and a full maintenance check + fluids flush. Also have had to replace both rear and front brakes. So 9 months and at least $3,000 later, hopefully we are done for awhile with spending money on it.

  • No regrets at all - 2007 Infiniti G35

I was debating between the G35 and the BMW 335i coupe. I test drove both and both are great cars. The BMW engine is a bit more refined and the manual shifting seemed more effortless. But the G35 Sport provides 95% of what BMW can offer and is $8000 less comparably equipped. The G35 interior is top notch. The BMW interior is more industrial looking in an Ikea sorta way. I chose the G35 Sport because it is stylish, powerful, well appointed, and wont give me headaches once the warranty is over. I have no regrets purchasing this car, but wonder if I should have waited one more year for the redesigned 2008 G35 coupe....Well done Infiniti!

  • Owner of 2000 G20t for 4 years - 2000 Infiniti G20

I had the 2000 G20t for 4 years. It is auto w/leather, and sunroof. I added the 16" rims from the 2002 G20 Sport, which enhanced the appearance and handling...Car has been great for the past 4 years, and I put close 60k on the car with no mechanical problems. Highway gets around 30mpg, and in town driving gets around 24mpg...handles very well and tight...Car still catches lots of attentions after 4 years, styling is incrediable.

  • Great coupe for the money - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

This car is a great fit for a tall driver. The seats are comfortable. There is room for 4 on short trips under 2 hrs. The look of the car is MARVELOUS. It has power and handles very well at speed. One of the best cars that I have driven. At 6ft 4in I have no problem with head or leg room. Comfort-Several long distance trips have been just fine. 10hrs or more. I say take a test drive.

  • G37S - Outstanding Value, blast to drive - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

Having had a 2006 Acura TL and a 2008 Acura TL-S I was ready for a change. While highly reliable, the front wheel drive, rattles, and so-so drive just didnt inspire. Not so with the G37S - drives like a dream, tons of power, top-notch fit and finish - rock solid and ZERO rattles. Buy it and enjoy!
