Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Happy with the preowned QX4 - 2002 Infiniti QX4

I had a 1998 qx4 previous and was satisfied with that. Upon my new purchase of a previously owned 2002 qx4 it was even better it seems higher more agressive and more powerfull (not so great at the pump tho.) Handles great no extended warranty needed from previous experience with infinity qx4 its the best deal if you are looking for luxury in a suv. If you can find one with low miles (i suggest under 30k) you can get one of these for 20k and its better than some of the new cars out there. Just love it cant say enough.

  • Amazing Automobile! - 2008 Infiniti G37

I researched for several months before purchasing the Infiniti G37 coupe. The reviews which praised its performance were right on. It not only features awesome acceleration, but has the best brakes I have ever experienced. Interior fit and finish are excellent. I purchased the ivory pearl exterior, and Im regularly getting comments on its beauty.

  • Ammmaaaaaazing - 2007 Infiniti G35

I have been researching this purchase for over a year now, ever since I found out they were redesigning the G35. I was not impressed with the previous versions interior design or quality, but this redesign is incredible!! I am a package kinda guy, meaning I like both interior and exterior refinement and the folks at Infiniti have got it right... and it blows the BMW 3 Series to the side of the road. The get-up-and-go of this car is great. The technology of the navigation system and audio systems is out of this world and the car just looks great! I compared to the Lexus IS350, BMW 335, Acura TL, Audi A4. This car is number one!

  • 5th q & the best - 2003 Infiniti Q45
    By -

This is my 5TH Q, theyve all been great cars but this one is incredible. I have the premium model with every option available & I truly love to drive it. We drive to hilton head twice a year & I wont let my wife share the driving even tho its about a 13 hour trip. I usually have the car svcd at key infiniti of hilton head & they cant seem to do enough to keep me happy. Forget the s-benz or the 740 bimmer, buy a Q, youll fall in love

  • Great Value! - 2003 Infiniti I35
    By -

I bought my I35 in December 2002 and now have 45000 miles on it. Only warranty work done was a new seat motor. Great engine, great near- luxury interior, great value. Sporty (stiff) suspension. Bose radio is terrible. It is all bass, very muddy sounding. No treble whatsoever. The worst car radio Ive ever heard! You will have to replace the speakers if you like listening to music. Turning radius is embarrasing. Like driving a bus in a parking lot. Overall highly recommended.

  • Reliable with Style - 2003 Infiniti QX4
    By -

I owned a 1999 QX4 for 3 years and bought the 2003 version in Jan-03 for the improved horsepower and style. One year later and I still love driving it. In the winter, I drive to the mountains almost every weekend and it handles great in snow or dry pavement. In the city, its not too big to park and looks great on the road.

  • Bimmer Burner - 2004 Infiniti G35

The G35x is one of the best cars I have ever driven. It accelerates and handles like a sports car but gives you the space for a family of four. I had both a BMW 5 series and a Volvo S60 and they arent even close. Great on the Highway and fun on the local streets. Thanks to edmunds got a great deal but I still cant figure out why.

  • GREAT CAR - 2000 Infiniti QX4

The service, dependability, looks, and durability have been everything I wanted in a luxury automobile.

  • WOW! - 2002 Infiniti Q45
    By -

This car has the prowess of a panther. It is understated and unique. Why spend a nickel more to buy a Benz when everytime Im at the carwash Mercedes owners ask me about the car and say that this is their next car. Its a Techies dream, smokes almost anything out there, its safe, solid and the stereo is awesome. The speed and handling however must be experienced to be believed. Buy this car.
