Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

If you want fun to drive ... this is it! - 2000 Infiniti G20
By Raggededge - November 30 - 11:56 amI got my G20t new in 2000. It now has almost 70K miles and no problems at all. It still garners compliments on its looks. It will outhandle cars much newer and costlier. The leather seats are some of the most comfortable ones out there. Plus, it gets great gas mileage. I average almost 30 mpg year round in mixed driving. Of course, I have a manual which goes a long way towards solving any perceived power deficiencies. Infiniti missed the boat with this car. They should have given it some upgrades and put either a turbo or the 2.5 engine in it. If you can find a nice one used, grab it. You wont regret it.

g35 takes the cake - 2004 Infiniti G35
By will mansi - November 28 - 10:00 amI think that the Infiniti G35x AWD is the best entry level sports sedan out there. I have test driven the bmw 330 and the acura tl, and the G blows its competition away. It is truly a luxury sports car that will make you look forward to getting behind the wheel!

Loving my 08 G35 Journey - 2008 Infiniti G35
By RbM - November 17 - 12:26 amI was all set to buy a 2008 Caddy CTS until a friend took me into the Infiniti dealership to look at the G35. Long story short, I bought the G35. The Infiniti is a superior product with excellent pricepoint, quality, reliability and longevity ratings. Mine is the Journey with Tech package, Premium luxury package, sport wheels and Rosewood interior. The combo of the Journey suspension with the 18 inch sport wheels/tire are the perfect balance for comfort and performance in my opinion. The satin finish on the Rosewood interior is very similar to the wood finish used in the BMW 7-series.

Reliable Pathfinder in a Luxury Wrapper - 2003 Infiniti QX4
By Zoso - November 14 - 10:00 amI bought this car after owning 93 and 00 Nissan Pathfinders. Was looking for the Pathfinder in a luxury wrapper -- and Infiniti delivers. The QX4 is the same body and substantially the same engine as the Pathfinder, but with the luxury touch provided by Infiniti. And unlike Nissan, Infiniti has a 48,000-mile/four-year bumper-to- bumper warranty plus the roadside assistance/loaner program -- assuming youll ever need it. I have had the QX4 for over a month now, and I have been very pleased with this SUV.

All that and a bag of chips - 2003 Infiniti G35
By coolman255 - November 14 - 10:00 amDriving in rush hour never felt so good. Sound system is excelent. Get the wood trim it spruces up the leather. Get a little space on the highway and gigle factor goes thru the roof. I am looking forward to owning this baby for a while.

Great Car - 2006 Infiniti M45
By bob foster - November 12 - 11:00 pmThe M45 Sport has met my expectations which were high to start with. It is both beautiful and a terrific driving experience. Number one would be the engine and drive train. Best feel of power and control I have ever experienced including BMW540i. It is both design and crafted with excellence and thought. The technology is very good but not quite up to the Acura RL, but I would take the drive train and vehicle design over the technology difference. The features are very extensive and user friendly. One can practically live in the car enjoying all the features and technology. It handles very well at all speeds and conditions as all the reviews showed. I have not been disappointed.
