Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

This car handles like a dream, solid and quick. My only complaints are the notchy manual shift linkage and a minor rattle in the rear package panel.

Great handling with powerful sedan at reasonable price. Defintely drviers car. A TRUE sports sedan. (up to now, sports sedan usually meant good handling decent power car or so so handling good power... not any more) Ride is plenty comfortable considering the performance (hard bumps are not as hard as before but small bumps feel a little more pronounced) Great contender for BMW 3 series. PS) The reliability rating is just guess at this point.

  • Awesome car, sad to sell - 2004 Infiniti G35

I absolutely love my G! I have had it for two and a half years now and still have so much fun driving it. We have not had any problems with it other than recently the drivers window stopped working for a day, but now it is working again. Ive had Nissans in the past and that tends to be a bit of an issue with them. We do most of the maintaining of it ourselves and its not expensive to keep up with. We have had many adults in the backseat also and as long as you dont hit bumps too hard to where their head hits the glass, its not too bad. Been on many road trips in it and get decent gas mileage and have a blast passing people on 2 lane roads! All in all I love it!

  • Excellent Value - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan

Ive had this car for a week and do not regret the purchase. Was wanting a 4 door performance sedan and was considering the Audi S4 but it was $60k after adding the options I wanted. Looked at the G37 and found practically everything I wanted in the S4 for $16k less. Powerful engine, nice interior, and I love the Limited Editions exterior color, Black Malbec, essentially black until you get it in the sunlight where it is dark maroon to purple although the Monacco red leather seats can be polarizing (I love em!). It does seem that I see G37s everywhere though - very popular vehicle. I wish it were a little more "rare" but this vehicle is a great value and a lot of people realize this.

  • Best in Class - 2008 Infiniti G35

There is no better value in the "Entry-Level Luxury Sedan" genre than the Infiniti G35. I have the Journey trim with the Sport Package. Awesome. Better than I expected. Great ride, powerful, quick and a real head turner. Interior is beautiful, too. After looking at Acura TL, 3-Series BMW and others, there is really no comparison. Only downside is MPG. I am getting about 19 living in congested Washington DC spending 50% of time in "city driving" conditions. German manufacturers beware! The G35 delivers luxury and performance that Lexus and Acura cannot match.

Just purchased and have approx. 1400 miles. Does everything it is supposed to in a first-class manner. Spent a week behind the wheel of a Navigator and the QX is way ahead of the Navigator in terms of ride quality, design, and comfort. Fantastic 1st gen effort here. Cant wait till my lease is up to see what the 2nd gen brings!! I love this QX!!!

the only thing i would say about his car that i dont like its virtually useless in snow when you have the "anti grip type featur on" but i have never seen a car that drives well on ice or significant snow yet anyway besides an suv. overall very happy the car is a real eye catcher in twilight blue...

  • A great sedan - 2004 Infiniti G35

I bought this car to replace my Jetta 1.8T that had tons of problems. I drive a lot for work (about 100 miles per day) so Ive spent a lot of time driving this car. The car is very comfortable and has a nice handling/ride balance. I personally would like it to be a bit less resistant to body roll but its much sportier than most of whats available. Brakes are pretty strong as well. The 3.5L V6 has plenty of power, and has a nice sound to boot. There are some nice touches throughout the car: the adjustable instrument panel, the reclining rear seats, dual-zone climate control, etc. The backseat is much larger than it looks. I bought it because I thought it presented a great value.

  • Best Car for the $ - 2003 Infiniti G35

Purchased the Luxury Leather model with Premium, Sport, Aero, Sunroof,Xenon, etc. in black/black...car is hot!...Fast, stylish and all this for under $35k...considered A4 3.0 and BMW 330Ci but could not compare for the price...Also, I get the performance of the 3 series and size of the 5 series...cant go wrong...only issue I have is car idles at 400 RPM when in drive at full stop...this wouldnt be a problem except i notice a slight vibration as if the car is struggling not to stall...anyone else notice this?
