Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

M45: Great Machine - 2003 Infiniti M45
By LoveCars - March 27 - 10:00 amThis is a great automobile! The body style is unique and sharp. Although similar lines to the new Cadillac, I find the M45 lines much more refined compared to the "boxy" look of the Cadillac. The interior is very handsome looking. The automatic retracting seat and lifting steering wheel for ease of entrance and exit is a nice touch. The tiptronic 5 speed transmission lets me enjoy additional acceleration and control when I want to have extra "fun". The audio controls on the steering wheel make audio operation safe and easy while in motion. The voice controlled audio and climate control system also make for ease and safety of control while driving.

Infiniti & The QX4 - 2002 Infiniti QX4
By UofA DKNY - March 27 - 10:00 amThe sales process was the same as a Nissan experience! I only bought it becuase I was tired and liked the vehicle and hell I got them to whore the car out to me! The sales and service experience is not yet up to par of that of LEXUS. Not a SUV for taller folks. Come on Infiniti, make the damn key and remote entry fob that of a Luxury Car and not of a Dodge!

Engineers - Listen UP! - 2000 Infiniti I30
By tustintony - March 27 - 10:00 amI would consider this vehicle Very Good to Excellent. It is roomy, handles as good as other cars I have owned. But, although there are a number of creature comforts, I believe that the engineers who design the Infinitis dont ever own or ride in them.

Proud owner - 2004 Infiniti G35
By cyho - March 24 - 10:40 pmThis is my weekend / fun car. The car as is was fast but the suspension was a bit too "boaty", but getting stiffer swaybars cured that. Had 1 rattle that was fixed during warranty during 1st year. Other than that, I have good luck with mine. Its such a good looking car too. Yes, suspension is stiff, but its a sports coupe dang it! :) Rear seats best for kids.

M45 vs 540i - 2004 Infiniti M45
By bunny1 - March 24 - 10:00 amJust traded a BMW 540i for the M45. Beemer went into the shop one time too many. Slightly less than 540i in pure kick ass performance but a whole ton of very nice amenities that cost $1,000s more from BMW. Closest car I could find in overall performance to replace my 540i and reduce the maintence costs substantially.

Acceleration blocked - 2006 Infiniti M45
By Bob Ringgenberrg - March 23 - 11:13 pmRarely when attempting to accelerate for a stop or slow speed, it gets stuck at 2,000 rpm and 20 mph and will not advance . You must take your foot off the accelerator and reapply slowly, Same with the manual mode. Can be dangerus when changing lanes in heavy traffic. To dealer 3 timers, they say they can not replicate this and it is fine. It is not fine, did this from day one. Some one said a software problem may exist as it is 1st generation software. I think I will trade in on a G35. I really like the M45 but but every time you want to get up and go you hold your breath because there is a chance it wont. Any help appreciated.

New G35 - 2008 Infiniti G35
By Dan M - March 20 - 2:50 pmTest drove many before I narrowed it down to the Acura TL and the G35. G35 was a much tighter drive and the exterior lines are much better and more unique. Only had for two weeks, but to date, I am very happy with the car. Was going to purchase the Blue slate but when I saw this in the sunlight it was too close to black. I thought Lakeshore was too light but it is perfect in person. Not too many running around town either.

Supremely Comfortable and Functional - 2013 Infiniti JX
By snoopbobb - March 20 - 6:47 amMy wife and I are in our early 40s, and we have a toddler. We wanted a car that has all of the practical amenities that we need for our kid and her stuff, along with the luxuries to which wed become accustomed. The JX suited our needs better than any other vehicle on the market. Also, in the big scheme of things, its actually a pretty solid value for what you get. E.g., we only paid about $5000 more for a JX thats loaded with the driver-assistance package and theater package than we wouldve paid for a comparably loaded Toyota Sienna Limited.
