Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I have had my G35 coupe for a little over 6 months, and I love it. This car is a blast to drive. Awesome handling and acceleration, along with super stylish looks are make the G the perfect package.

I was pleasantly surprised first by the dealership experience, and then the performance of the car. This is the first higher end car I have ever owned, and the mix of luxury, and performance is just right for me. There are so many features that are very well thought out on this car. I think one of the nicest is the intelligent key. It is so great not to have to fumble for the key to get into and to start the car. Performance and handling are way better than I am used to as well.

  • Good Overall - 2002 Infiniti I35

First "luxury" car Ive owned and Ive been satisfied so far. Taken two long trips (Ohio to S. Florida) with no problems except an annoying click when pressure is applied to the accelerator pedal. Checked w/dealer and its supposedly happening in all I35s. (Throttle switch?!) Overall, its a wonderful car that Id recommend to any 1st time luxury car buyer.

  • LOVE my G - 2007 Infiniti G35

I traded my FX35 in for the 2007 G35, and I love it!! I loved my FX too, but had decided that it was time for a sedan in my life, but not just any sedan since I had gotten used to the perfomance of the FX. I love my G, great performance, tech toys, love the engine, looks hot and is just a fantastic car, well at least so far. I will update as I put the miles on.

Went in to look at the G35, but was not as impressed with that car as reviews had led me to believe. Actually hadnt heard of the M45, but was immediately attracted to the interior design and comfort before I drove it. Then, wow! Clearly, a refined muscle car. You just dont expect to get quick acceleration and tight handling from what is essentially a luxury sedan. The Edmunds review compares the looks to a Cadillac DeVille, but with the rear spoiler and after adding custom chrome wheels, they couldnt be more wrong. I drove the Cadillac STS-V and BMW 545 before picking this car--couldnt see a good enough reason to spend another $10-15K. And, gotta love the reliability reports!

This is one of the best full size luxury SUV out on the market now!!! What makes it even better is the price. The only car Ive ever bought that I paid full list for. That price point makes it a little easier to swollow!!

I just got my G35x about 2 weeks ago. Wow! I read the reviews so I felt confident with the purchase, thought I knew exactly what I was getting. I am happy to say that I received much more than I anticipated. The styling is classy, the quality is impeccable and the power this car delivers is "infinitely" beyond my expectation. The G has an impressive center of gravity that makes the car stick to the road in the corners. I love all the techno gadgets as well including the nav and hard drive for storing my music on board. The voice commands and the Bluetooth wireless for my cell is my favorite feature. The fob key entry system rocks. This car delivers a flawless experience, end to end.

  • Family Sport Sedan - 2008 Infiniti G35

This is an excellent choice for anyone wanting a performance sedan thats usable in daily life. The performance is stunning, but it seats four comfortably and has a reasonable trunk. The suspension is more sporty than luxury. Selectable comfort/sport suspension settings would be nice. Overall, this is one of the best cars you can get on a "normal" budget.

  • Best car ever. - 2006 Infiniti G35

I got this car in Feb. 06. I looked at the BMW 330Ci and this car blew it away just on the HP alone. I fell in love with this car, its exterior and interior look was more modern then that of the BMW. I have not regretted my desision since.
