Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I traded a 740iL where I felt every bump in the road to the smoothest quietest ride avail today. 340hp gets you moving in a hurry. Like the map feature as well as voice controls.

  • AWESOME SUV. Better than my Hummer - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

Have owned Hummer, Suburban, and custome vans. This QX 56 gets better mileage, 21 mph at 70 mph and its features are topped by no one.Love the laser controlled cruise control. Ill never have to use my brakes again in traffic. The QX 56 does it for us

A consistant 21 mpg with 80 percent highway and 20 percent city. Outstanding performance and handling for the 2 lane roads.

  • Overall Excellant - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive had my G35 sedan for 2 months and its a fine ride. But you only learn things about a car youve drooled over for a year after you get it. Things I dont like: side pockets on doors are too deep and narrow, 2 glove boxes really too small to hold anything, auto seat adjuster poorly located. Steering wheel controls are difficult to use in the dark until you get used to them. Things I like: SPEED(Already got a ticket)Wow!, Fuel economy, 24.5mpg if you dont hammer on it, Great looks! Corners like its on rails. PS, Dont get the sport suspension unless youre a road racer cause the standard suspension is plenty stiff.

  • Fast and furiously fun to drive! - 2007 Infiniti G35

Ive had this 07 G35S 6mt for just over a week and its a just as much a thrill looking at it parked as it is to drive. I have all the available options (tech, premium, navigation packages, 4WAS, factory spoiler, splash guards, cargo net). Shifting out of 1st is getting easier and the low-end gear power is awesome - I wouldnt consider the 5 speed automatic for this beast even with the paddle shifters. My wife drives an automatic but enjoys this manual. Its very quiet on the interstate and the suspension is tight but not harsh - just what you need for a true sedan sports car. The quality is great from fit to finish - just hard to keep it under 4000 RPMs during break-in.

  • Im in Love with This Car - 2003 Infiniti M45

Incredible vehicle...designed for a man in this late 40s. Im a women in my early 30s and think this car is the most beautiful Ive seen in a long time. It would have cost me 10K more for an underpowered Mercedes. Yah, that made sense.

  • look, drive, buy, enjoy QX4 4 x 4 - 2003 Infiniti QX4
    By -

SUVs are a dime a dozen these days... Dont be fooled by immatations. This vehicle does what the adds say it will do. No kidding! In snow this truck will out manuever even higher profile off road vehicles. Why? because Infiniti knows how to match the engine to its transmission. Trade secrects are worth paying for!

  • Great car for money - 2005 Infiniti G35

This is a great car for money. I drove BMW and, BMW is not worth all that extra money.

  • A Truely Luxury SUV - 2002 Infiniti QX4
    By -

Before made decision on the 40K investment, we tried all SUV at its class. QX4 was not our favorite at first. Once tried, and checked out the build quality, and standard equipments, we bought it right away. No complaint yet after 6 months and 10000 miles on it.

  • great vehicle - recommended - 2001 Infiniti QX4
    By -

This has been a great car. The ride is surprisingly luxurious, and the build quality is outstanding. With 240 hp, it really scoots, too! My one complaint is gas mileage - I average about 15mpg with combo of city and hwy driving. I have never had any technical problems with this vehicle
