Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Ive had five Nissans over 13 years. Still have 2. Checked out new Max but 6" longer and 6" narrower than G35. Styling and handling of G35 won hands down..price not that much difference. Once speeding off highway exit I hit a quick turn and had to apply brakes with more pressure than normal the VDC kicked in and controlled the turn without any trouble. AWESOME. I was ready for a skid and a quick correction, but just glided where I wanted to go.

The handeling is superb! The comfort exilarating and a complete joy particulary for a two door-four seater. Style you ask? The G-35 rivals and in my opinon surpasses all the competition not to mention the G-35 is a definate head turner.

  • I love this car - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive had my G35 for about ten days now. Its a great car and a lot of fun to drive. I had read reviews on the 03, and saw a lot of comments about the brake dust. I had no idea what brake dust even looked like. However, I do know now. I do get brake dust on the front wheels. I do still love the car though. I do need to take it in to have the tire pressure gauge re-calibrated. Hopefully this wont be a problem in the future.

  • Luxurious Sportscar - 2008 Infiniti G37

Performs like a V8. Super handling, yet comfy ride. Perfect fit for everyday drive, with power ready when needed. Much better improved than 2007 G35 model, from power, exterior & interior styling, ride quality, sound deadening material. Reasonable pricing. I love every minute of driving this car. Watch out for the enforcers.

  • A Piece of JUNK! - 2014 Infiniti QX60

I owned this car for 8 months too long! I wish I had done my research. Upon purchasing this vehicle the rear differential went out at 50k miles. After replacing the rear differential, I noticed stuttering and poor acceleration in the transmission. I took it to the dealer and they updated the software, but it didnt cure the problem. Long story short, they ended up putting a new transmission in. I have had to replace and entire headlamp because the seals went bad and condensation in the lamp was causing a shortage in the bulb. After they fixed that headlight the driver headlamp suffered the same issue. Went back to the dealer for an oil change, but noticed my engine light on, they discovered that I needed a catalytic converter and a catalytic manifold system!!!!!! This was the WORST car I HAVE EVER OWNED! DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!! That CVT transmission is garbage!!!!! I can go on and on about repairs and how god awful this car is. Just leave it at the dealership!!!
