Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Why does this car not hold its value? - 2000 Infiniti Q45
By WmTrap - September 8 - 12:20 amI have had NO problems with my car. I think it is a very eye-catching vehicle with very nice interior appointments. My only complaint is the size of the truck which is due to the positioning of the gas tank. This definitely should have been changed before 2001. Why does this vehicle lose its value so precipitously? I am considering purchasing the car when the lease expires but am afraid it is one of the worst automobile investments I can make.

Step up from the more expensive Escalade - 2005 Infiniti QX56
By Mills - September 7 - 6:43 amWonderful vehicle. Technologically superior to our 2002 Escalade (as well as the 2005 we considered). I am a large guy and the interior room is best I have experienced. completely pleased so far.

Excellent sport car - 2009 Infiniti G37
By High Performer - September 4 - 10:30 pmThis is a high quality, luxury sports car. The exhaust sound is great. There is plenty of power. The transmission is sometimes getting confused in the lower rpm. This car needs high pushing than it comes to life. Very sexy interior, and exterior. Lots of electronic gadgets. I have premium package with nav and bose sound system. Everything works perfect. Very good sound system and navigation is one of the best in its class.

Dream Car - 2003 Infiniti G35
By Bill Medley - September 3 - 9:36 amI bought this car after reading all the hype from the magazines. It has lived up to all they said. A dream to drive, little or no maintenance problems, a real pleasure to look at and decent milage (21-23 mpg highway when driving constant speed limit) for the power it has. It has been one of the best high performance cars I have ever owned, and I have had a few. I believe this car will be a classic.

Excellent Value - 2002 Infiniti G20
By kyledb - September 3 - 6:40 amSuperb automobile. Long known for its superior reliability,it is also an outstanding handler. High limits, the brakes react quickly, and the steering is very precise. Its not as short on power as you hear, but it could use a few more ponies. The safety features are extensive, and the Bose stereo is superb. A great car at around $24k loaded, but it is outstanding at $19k!

I found my under 50-Grand dream car - 2004 Infiniti G35
By neffster-01 - September 2 - 2:00 amThis sports coupe is insane! Handles wonderfully, turns on a dime, corners remarkable, stops abruptly, accelerates as fast as anyone would ever "need" and gets stares from onlookers everywhere.

1st Infinity - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Ct Husker - September 2 - 2:00 amThis car is a BMW & Audi killer! Its about the same size but much less expensive. It has power to spare! Pulls hard from zero to 100. It doesnt have the precise handling of German cars but its still excellent. The AWD feature works superb. Had a snow and ice storm last week and the car was fantastic! Even better than my 4Runner. Interior is good but should be upgraded. Controls are nicely mounted and easy to use. Love the radio and CD control on the steering wheel. Had an A4 AWD and the G35x is a lot more car for the money. You will never know youre driving an AWD car unless the weather is bad. Will it hold up? Ill let you know in about 25,000 miles.

I Love my I - 2003 Infiniti I35
By Jackie - September 2 - 12:13 amI chose this car when I had to replace my Acura Integra with a larger "Mommy" car. I initially went for one of the new Acuras, but decided on this car after comparing prices and test driving them all more than 5 times each. This car is sooo comfortable, especially on long rides. I havent had any major problems, but I am disappointed that the drivers seat motor went out. One thing, the turning radius is horrible!!

saved my life - 2005 Infiniti G35
By no one - September 1 - 4:06 pmApart from good performance and its great looks, this vehicle has excellent brakes. I recenlty witnessed a major crash, all five cars in front of me from three lanes were flying everywhere, I could have very well been involved in that mess, but the brakes stopped the car so quick. Everyone was going at least 65 m/h. My previous car would have never made it. This car is worth it.
