Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Love It! - 2007 Infiniti QX56

This SUV rocks! Not boring, not snobby, not ghetto. Just reliable, classy, well appointed transport. Its built like a tank and is very safe. (I crashed, I know.)

  • Great Purchase - 2008 Infiniti G35

Purchased our vehicle last week, the wife and I absolutely love it! It is very responsive, and has a nice smooth ride. The acceleration is outstanding, as well as all the bells and whistles. Love the voice recognition, blue tooth, and navigation. It is a bit annoying that you cannot input directions on the nav while on the move, but well get over it. If you are in the market to purchase a car, I recommend you take a look at this car. There is not a vehicle out there that has the features that the G35 comes with at such an affordable price. Awesome job Infiniti!

  • This is better than a 350Z - 2003 Infiniti G35

Most people do not realize that the same engine of the 350Z is in the G35 coupe. It has a richer and leather interior, a 2 x 2 flip donw back seat like the 300ZX used to have, SAT radio, nad even sounds better. Wake up America, this is better than a Z350.

  • awsome coupe - 2003 Infiniti G35

Awesome to drive! Cant have more fun with a 6-speed coupe.

  • Hands down the best car for your money - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Hands down the best car you can get for your money. In the dry weather the car can easily chase down, and carve a canyon road with a mustang GT or nissan 350z. But, its just as comfortable tracking through a blizzard with the likes of an acura mdx or honda pilot. The bmw 330xi, the audi a4 quattro, and the mercedes c320 4matic can simply not compete with this car. The awd system and engine are simply awesome, and to add injury to its competition, it comes with a very fashionable list of standard accessories (xenon lights, rear led lights, 17" wheels, heated leather seats, 6cd mp3 player, etc...) The only draw back is its mileage. It averages about 19-20mpg on the highway.

  • What a car! - 2008 Infiniti G35

I have owned quite a few sedans over the years and this one is my favorite by far. I just traded in my Dodge Charger R/T for this 2008 G35X (w/ Premium & Nav), and I have to say this sedan absolutley kills my dodge in every way (including performance). Being a computer consultant, I love all of the technology packed into the car. Voice commands actually work like you expect them to, the backup camera is awesome, iPod integration rocks. I could go on and on. Performance is great for a sedan like this. Faster than my hemi dodge for sure. The AWD is amazing and seamless. I feel like Im driving a RWD with LOADS of grip. Much safer for my wife to drive in the wet and snow!

  • Great Sports Coupe, Needs to Lose Weight - 2008 Infiniti G37
    By -

I enjoy my G37 S 6-speed. It has every option except nav and Tech. pkg. I dont agree that this car is fast, its quick, but not fast. If this car can drop 200 lbs and add 35 pounds of torque, it would be in the BMW 335ci class as far as being quicker. Without the torque, I would say this car is a touch behind BMW in the performance area, but it makes up for it by being less expensive and I would say more reliable than the BMW. Infiniti has come a long way since my 2003 G35 coupe. If you are looking for a good looking coupe for around $40k, this car is hard to beat.

  • A Very good car - 2005 Infiniti G35

Handling: Better then BMW or Subaru Ride: Better then Nissan or Mercury Looks: Better then Mercury Sable, Mercury GrandMarquis, or Volvo S80, or Mercdes Benz. Pickup: Better then Linclon Towncar v8 or Mercury GrandMarquis v8, 0-60 in 6.4 seconds. Features: The Best Cd Player: Updated bose, the best.

  • My Pearl - 2003 Infiniti G35

I love the car. Enough said. All my co-workers think it is a 45000 dollar car and it is powerful enough to play around with my 2 bosses Porsche and Jaguar XK8. Dont get me wrong, it will not out perform either one, but of course I didnt spend any 60000 to 90000 either.
