Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • They continue to impress and amaze me - 2009 Infiniti G37

Ive driven Infinitis since 1993. 16 years of nothing but good things to say. The G37X is as good as it gets. Splurge for the Navigation - the other goodies that come with it make it a bargain. If the economy was better, these would be selling like hotcakes - there would be a waiting list. Check out the reviews, Car and Driver, Consumer Reports, etc. It is a no brainer and nothing touches it bang for the buck - the perfect car if you want performance and technology with a side of practicality.

  • Jack of all traits - 2005 Infiniti G35

The 2005 G35 sedan w/sport suspension, auto and premium package is a well balanced automobile! I presently have a 2003 BMW 530i sport, premium, w/auto. The G35 is smooth and powerful. The lines on the car are well executed! The Gs performance and overall completeness are second to none within its class and beyond! This autmobile should be considered highly!!!

  • Excellent Choice - 2016 Infiniti QX60

Overall good ride and good safety features. The 360 degree view offer great assistance for parking. The new transmition system is so good that you can hardly notice the gears shifting.

  • Best SUV Value! - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

Had the QX56 for 6 weeks so far, and driven on winding roads of NC and humid weather in GA and SC...got great mileage on freeway 19-20, handles like a car and power to pass 4 18 wheelers in a burst of power, could have pass up 10 18 wheelers if i had to. So far, no problems mechanically or comfortwise.

  • I love my car - 2004 Infiniti G35

I love my 6-speed manual coupe!! It is so much fun to drive! The seats are great and cup you when you are taking sharp turns at high speeds. The ride is surprisingly smooth too. The short shifter six speed is nice, so much more fun than an automatic. My only complaint would be the seatbelts - they hit you at awkward position and Im constantly adjusting the chest strap - but for this much fun, who cares?! I would definitely recommend this car to other car buyers. Its awesome!!!

  • Last car Ill buy - 2003 Infiniti I35

I have had my I35 for a little over a month and I absolutely love it. The ride is firm but never harsh and the interior is always quiet. I got mine in black with black leather and the combination looks really menacing

  • just bought the g35 sports coupe! - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car is sooooo much fun to drive. I seriously look forward to getting in it every time. Just starting up that engine and hearing that low, gravelly roar come from the tail pipes is enough to get me excited. IT drives like a true sports car - ive driven the 330ci and i think this car is way better. The inside is beautiful let alone the georgeous exterior body moldings. If you dont care who you have to pick up dont get the four door - splurge that little bit extra for the coupe - im telling you its the way to go.

  • Just get it! - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Have had the G35 for almost 2 months and it is still an amazing car to drive. It has so many good qualities in its class. Too bad the BMW die- hards will not give up their tunnel vision, but for an apples-to-apples comparison, nothing touches this car. Remember this is a $30K car when well equipped, so it should be compared to the BMW 325i and the Mercedes C240, and in both of these comparisons the G35 blows them away! Not even close. If you want to get close to this level, you need to up your price to the $40K level with these competitors. All this and Infiniti quality and reliability – not getting to be buddies with the shop manager.

  • What a great car! - 2009 Infiniti G37
