Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Exhilarating !!! - 2004 Infiniti G35

If you turly want a automobile that will make driving fun again. The G35 Coupe will give you that satisfaction. My Coupe has all the bells and whistles, including GPS. From Comfort to power this car has the best balance of any car Ive owned, and Ive owned all the big named autos. Im also surprised by the room. I have carried on several occasion four adults in comfort. This is a great feature. I can say enough at this time. Ill have to review again after about 20,000 miles.

  • QX4 should be brought back - 2001 Infiniti QX4
    By -

When I purchased the 2001 QX4, there were not many car based SUVs - QX4 is a truck based rear wheel drive vehicle. 4WD was an option. The differential & drive shaft needed for rear wheel drive adds weight - for that reason gas consumption is a bit higher compared to contemporary non-SUVs. 2001+ models have the killer look - personally, I prefer it over the X5s and of course RX300 and M-Class. The front bezel and the wide three-spoke aluminum wheels (for 4WD trim) are both unique. The 4WD trim came with adequate and stylist standard features - Xenon HID head lamp, sun/moon roof, 6CD Bose, electro-fluorescent dash, everything-power, leather, simulated wood-trim ...

  • So far so good - 2003 Infiniti M45
    By -

I just bought my M45 almost a week ago and so far I am very pleased with my ride. I just love the power this car possesses underneath its hood. I am also very careful on how I have my foot to the pedal, since this V-8 monster will definitely gulp down its gas tank. Overall, I am very happy with the build, interior and exterior wise. Also, with lots of hp, this is seriously one very fast car. The ride is pretty smooth too.

Bought in June of 2002 and have 19,500 miles. Still a rocket on the road. Handles incredibly and accelerates to beat most other autos.

  • Well Balanced - Fast, Dependable & Sexy - 2007 Infiniti G35

The G35 does everything well. And its design is subtle - not overstated like many others in its category. Test drive one and youll agree. Well made. Fun to drive. Good looks.

  • I LOVE this car! - 2005 Infiniti G35

When my son suggested that I look into the Infiniti G35x for an AWD car, I admit, Id never heard of it. I was leaning toward an ES330. I am so glad that I listened to him - I adore this car! Everything about it - the engine, the styling, the color (Lakeshore Slate). I am so proud to be driving it. I didnt go for the wood interior and Im glad, I like the brushed aluminum better. I like the size too, not too big (I traded in a 1999 Avalon) and not too small (I was test-driving a C320 4matic). I did get the satellite radio, but am considering not subscribing anymore because I dont get enough use out of it. My oil change was a snap. No problems - love this car!

  • Top of the Line Luxury Sports Sedan - 2007 Infiniti G35
    By -

Compared all of the competition: Acura TL, Cadillac CTS, BMW 328xi, Lincoln MKZ: no comparison for the money. Great handling, instant response and power, all-wheel drive on demand, simple luxurious interior, superior braking, terrific 10 speaker Bose sound system, and fanastic looks (black on grey (slate) leather). Got the Premium package w/o NAVI. It has all the toys you could need. Just getting to the initial break-in, the car is a "rocket" and solidly planted. Real fun to drive with the 5 speed auto with sport mode and manual shifting. Great turning circle, no torque steer, and if you manually shift, hold on!

  • The best - 2003 Infiniti I35

This car is simply unbelievable. Quality, reliability, and customer service are second to none.
