Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • WOW - 2004 Infiniti G35

1500 miles now. Absolutely no problems with my G35X. It is an absolute sports machine - I look forward to driving it every day. The main reason I purchased this car is for the AWD feature, but that being said, no amount of hi-tech (including AWD, ABS, VDC, traction control, etc.) will overcome the intelligence of the driver in inclement weather. Nothing prevents a car slipping on ice (except for maybe chains or spiked tires). I dont drive like SUV drivers - just because I have AWD...

I shopped Acura, Lexus,Mercedes, and Infiniti. The Lexus ES300 has to few horses and to high a price for a dressed up Camry. The Mercedes C is too small. The Acura TL is a worthy competitor. But, in the final analysis, I chose the I35 for the overall package of comfort, quality, price, and performance. I havent been disappointed. I now have 10,000 millws on the odometer, and feel I made a good decision

  • I dont miss the Audi. - 2007 Infiniti G35

My 2006 Audi A4 3.2l was recently totaled. The new G35 was worth the wait. Interior and exterior quality of this car are superb and a significant improvement from the 2006 model. I was concerned that this vehicle would be a cheap "substitute" for the BMW or not live up to my Audi. NOT! In my opinion THIS car has now set the new standard, especially considering the outstanding features and cheaper price. This car is now unmatched: Fun to drive, great power, reliability, luxurious interior, tech options, AND less expensive... Negatives? While I personally would rank overall performance of the G35 best in the class, I would still rank steering precision 2nd to BMW. Fuel economy is so-so.

Was in the market for a 05 Audi S4 but couldnt find one in my budget. Drove past an Infiniti dealership and I was in love. This car has all the toys! Keyless entry, push button start, back up camera, navi, iPod enable, Im sure more that I havent discovered yet. This car is awesome. I was in the market for a v8 but this car does just fine and Im saving gas!

I cannot due justice to the bang for your buck with this vehicle. I have the performance package, obsidian black on chrome 18" wheels, fin and molding kit. Willow leather interior fully loaded with nav and 225 watt Bose system. I black tinted the rear windows. Does anyone remember Night Rider? A K&N air filter gives it about 5 more horses that pushes it to 285 hp. The car growls when I hit it. I turn more heads than a Paris Hilton video. This vehicle is solid and and true performer. I am a V8 guy normally. I went from Jag super charged V8 that put out 370 hp. I was concerned about losing that huge punch that only a big V8 can deliver at any speed. I found it! No regrets.

I35 is an awesome machine. I was in the market for a car that could match style, comfort and performance of my 98 BMW 740IL but not force me to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for it. Not until I found the I35 was there a comparison. It is roomy, fast, comfortable and stylish.

  • Love this car!!! - 2008 Infiniti G37

We had been looking for over a year and fell in love with this car first drive. The ivory pearl color is gorgeous! The car gets a lot of stares. It is hard to keep it at an approved speed because it is so fast and fun to drive. Love the seats and the interior comfort. I havent even begun to discover all that the car offers as far as technology. The car sounds real beefy. Love the 19" rims.

Considered Acura TL, VW Passat and Volvo S60. Would have preferred a smaller car but loved the ride, features and "look and feel" not to mention reputation for reliability (#1). Navigating in small spaces is no fun but driving on the open road is a blast. Time spent commuting is fun with this thing. Love the sound system. Aside from the big size and gas mileage it is the perfect car for me.

  • Love my I30 - 1998 Infiniti I30

Bought the car used from a private party for 4k and have never looked back. The car is extremely reliable with few repairs, except for the obvious, brakes etc. I just took it to the mechanic and he told me that if I continue to take care of it, should last me another 100k. Lastly for those of you with air bag light problems, there is a fix on the internet, havent figured out how to do it yet, but it should get rid of the annoying blinking light. I have heard infinity wants upwards of $600 to fix, shame on you when it has always been a glitch with the system. Happy Driving to all Infinity I30 drivers!!
