Overview & Reviews
After years of watching its premium-brand rivals grab more than their slice of the three-row luxury crossover pie, Infiniti brought the JX to market for a single year before changing its name to QX60 (reviewed separately). Based on the Nissan Pathfinder, the roomy JX provides used car shoppers seating for seven and is both practical and comfortable. The second-row seat, for example, tilts and slides to allow easier access to the third row.
As expected from an Infiniti, the spacious cabin also boasts excellent fit and finish and plenty of high-tech convenience and safety features. What isn't expected is the rather bland driving experience, as the JX lacks the athletic personality prevalent through the brand's lineup. That said, the Infiniti JX, with its accommodating interior, comfortable ride and wealth of user-friendly luxury features would likely make an agreeable choice for anyone shopping for a practical and upscale used family vehicle.
Used Infiniti JX Models
Introduced for 2013, the Infiniti JX was available in a single trim level. The JX came with a 3.5-liter V6 with 265 horsepower matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a Sport mode that mimics the gearchanges of a conventional transmission. Front-wheel drive was standard, while all-wheel drive was optional.
Standard features included automatic bi-xenon headlights, a sunroof, a power liftgate, keyless ignition/entry, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, a rearview camera and a six-speaker sound system with satellite radio and an iPod/USB audio interface. Optional highlights included a 360-degree parking camera system, front and rear parking sensors, a Bose audio system, a navigation system, a dual-screen entertainment system and a Driver Assistance package with adaptive cruise control, forward and rear collision warning, intelligent brake assist, blind spot warning, a heated steering wheel and remote ignition.
Chief among the JX's assets is its flexible and generous seating. In addition to that tilting and sliding second-row seat, this Infiniti features a third row that provides enough room for average-sized adults. Additionally, both rows feature reclining seatbacks. Passengers will also enjoy first-class, leather-lined accommodations with rich-looking wood and metallic accents. The various electronic gadgets are intuitive and easy to use, which is a rare trait given the ever-increasing number of these features.
In reviews, we found the JX to be something of an odd duck in the Infiniti family. Rather than having the sharp handling chops that mark the brand, the JX feels mushy and lazy when pushed on a twisty road. Though it makes for a pleasant road trip cruiser, the JX was clearly not cut from the same cloth as its crossover siblings.

Positive First Impressions with the JX - 2013 Infiniti JX
By rtmoorewy - September 3 - 8:55 pmI just picked up my new JX this week and my initial impressions are very favorable. My JX is the Emerald Graphite AWD with the premium package. This is my second Infiniti (2007 FX35). The fit and finish is impeccable. The emerald paint is a deep metallic rich, subtly changing hue in different lights. The java interior is beautiful, as well as very comfortable. There is plenty of interior room, including headroom. 3rd row seat is low, but roomy. The floor is level throughout, and plenty of visibility all around. The controls are well placed. This car is clearly designed for quiet and comfort. By design, it does not have the same performance & handling of other Infinitis. But, loads of tech!

Wonderful vehicle! - 2013 Infiniti JX
By maxine13 - March 25 - 11:03 pmMy husband was gracious enough to surprise me with the JX a month ago. The JX is amazing! The safety and technology features cannot be beat. I have been researching a new car for a year, from highest end to mediocre and truly feel the JX is the best value for your money. No, it is not the fastest at accelerating...but take it for what it is. It is a crossover/suv, not a sports car. Gas mileage has been about 19mpg. My husband has a supercharged Range Rover and wants to trade cars with me frequently!?

so far so good - 2013 Infiniti JX
By nyctom - April 15 - 8:29 pmhere is my impression after 1 week. the jx rides smooth and coming from 2 lexus rx350 i think infinity has gone the extra mile as far a the interior and nice little details where i felt lexus had cheapened the interior and when i tried to order a mark levinson sound system it was a 5 month wait..I like the bose sound system and the cvt is smooth and no lack of power here. I did drive the mdx and that is much faster but not as nice of a ride. the car does have some body lean around curves but not so that i bothers me. i can only hope its reliable as with 2 lexus i never had anything go wrong in 6 years.. go check it out its nice

Exactly as advertised - 2013 Infiniti JX
By holladts - December 15 - 3:15 pmWas looking at the usual suspects, MDX, Q7, however, for the price, neither could beat the JX, plus the JX was more roomy. The V6 tuned to about 300hp would have been perfect, but as the reviews mention and as Infiniti admits, this is not a performance vehicle. Have only had for about a week now, so Ill have to update in about 6 months.

Very functional car that is fun to drive - 2013 Infiniti JX
By dgc3043 - September 25 - 3:39 pmDownsizing from a loaded Ford Expedition I wanted similar functionality in a vehicle that was more city friendly/drove like a car. At 67" with 2 kids still in the house I was very impressed with the flexibility of the JX. With the drivers seat fully adjusted for me and my 38" inseam, a large adult can sit comfortably behind me. Mid sized adults can realistically fit in the 3rd row. Not as much cargo room as the Expedition but significantly more than what you would think--car looks smaller on the outside but is quite cavernous on the inside. The vehicle drives very nice; I crave silence on the freeway and the JX is quiet at speed, absorbs bumps well, has solid acceleration and braking.
