  • Celebrated 9th anniversary with #98 car - 1998 Infiniti I30
    By -

Bought my 98 I30 in August 2000 as a two-year off-lease vehicle. Has been outstanding performer for last nine years. Key to performance is great power to weight ratio, but car is still roomy for four adults. Engine and AT is perfect combo of power / torque and economy. Two design flaws to note: The glass that goes across length of trunk will eventually warp and let water into trunk and the volume control on audio will become useless. I had both parts replaced (entire radio under warranty) and both problems have come back again. Still been a great value and will drive at least another two years when I give it to my younger son to take to college.

  • I-30 is very good in Entry Level Luxury - 1999 Infiniti I30

  • Great compromise car - 1998 Infiniti I30
    By -

The I30 is a great compromise car because it does almost everything well. It is VERY reliable (nothing has ever broken after 86,000 miles) its fast, has a responsive transmission. Gets 27 mpg during freeway commuting. It has plenty of room inside the cabin as well as the trunk. Because of steep depreciation, this is an excellent used car to buy. Im planning on buying a 2000 shortly. You really cant go wrong with this car! And yes, it is just a fancier Maxima.

  • current problem - 1998 Infiniti I30
    By -

my 1998 I30 - I had wheel bearings replaced on both front wheels and the next time I drove car my transmission seems to have a problem. 128,000 miles. Has anyone experienced this with their auto with such low mileage? going at about 55 mph a grinding sounded and a power loss started. I was able to drive at lower speed but the transmission appears to be troubled.

  • Nearly perfect car - 2000 Infiniti I30

This car has no flaws and for the money cant be compared to in its class for speed, power, comfort, size, style, handling, etc.

  • nice car - 1999 Infiniti I30
    By -

my family has been driving this car for about 2 years now (35000 miles) and we have not experienced a single mechanical or cosmetic problem. Great commuter car (25mpg) with heated seats, temperature control and bose stereo. I consider this a luxury car for midgets, anyone over about 5ft 10in has very limited space to move. interior materials are much nicer than a GTP and the i30 costs alot less than the 325i. I have never regretted myself buying the i30. However I still find myself dreaming of driving a convertible with the top down on a curvy road just as the sun is setting after a beautiful day. that i would trade my i30 for.

  • No problems ever - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

The I30 has been my best vehicle ever. Four years + 3months of ownership and I have never had a warranty issue or mechanical breakdown. I replaced the tires at 33000. Oil changes every 3K, transmission oil at 30K, Cooling system at 30K. It jumps into traffic, rides like a dream. Why should I ever sell it or trade it?

  • Thinking twice about Infiniti - 2001 Infiniti I30
    By -

Bought this car after my SC400 was totaled. Had about 100K on it or so. Performance is decent but coming from a RWD V8 to a FWD V6 was a little disappointing. Dont get me wrong I love my I30, but its conditional love. This car has been an absolute nightmare. The VSS was replaced twice, MAF sensor is prone to replacement, ECM burned up due to sudden fault in the Idle Control. Suspension is very soft even for a sedan. Besides this long list of expensive i mean very expensive repairs, I enjoy driving this car. It has a very responsive throttle and gets attention where ever it goes.

  • Love it! Buy 2 - 2001 Infiniti I30

I ran into this car, looking to purchase a Nissan Maxima. After test driving and pulling out my calculator, it was a pretty easy decision to purchase the car. The 2001 I30 is great. A Smooth ride, powerful-fast engine (for the money), and loads of comfortable options makes this car one of the best kept secrets in the automotive world. So much so that I about an I35 8 months later. I love it. I have 2.

  • 99 Limited very fun - 1999 Infiniti I30
    By -

Bought this for $10500 out the door and can easily say this is an excellent deal. It has high mileage at 81000, but the engine and tranny are both very smooth. My brother has an 03 Maxima SE, and I find both cars very similar. I like my interior a lot better of course, but mine is obviously slower. The pro lem is is that both receive the same gas mileage, even though the Maxima has a bigger engine with more HP. Overall, I love this car, and think its one of the best investments Ive ever made.
