This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Veracruz is Hyundai's latest trip uptown. Slotting above the Santa Fe in terms of price and size, this midsize crossover SUV offers a 260-horsepower V6, luxury features galore and a roomy, well-trimmed cabin.

Pros:
  • Excellent build and materials quality, long warranty, generous standard features list for price, standard third-row seating.
Cons:
  • Bland styling up front, navigation system not available.

We purchased one of the first ones sold love it, minus the paint on exterior is thin chips easy, few interior flaws, weather stripping bad otherwise I truly love it.

We just purchased a fully loaded Veracruz Limited AWD with convenience package and more. It was the most expensive car the Hyundai dealer had ever sold. It rides well and is very comfortable. My critique is that it is skimpy on the cupholders, lacks automatic adjustable rear seats, needs more storage nooks, the engine is noisy, and it lacks bluetooth. But it is a very attractive car, without too much fake wood, and a good value if you arent looking for snob appeal. And who can beat the warranty? I am glad there is no navi system since we have a Garmin. Its a deal compared to the luxury brand crossovers.

We like our Veracruz but are disappointed in our 20.8 mpg on the highway. The interior is roomy.

I recently had a head-on accident in my Veracruz (airbags did NOT deploy), with $13,000 worth of damage and I am getting absolutely no help from Hyundai National Consumer Affairs. In fact, they sent me a letter regarding my vehicle and the accident and stated the wrong vehicle in the letter - they mentioned I owned an Elantra. I will be getting rid of my Veracruz and never purchasing a Hyundai again. Customer service says a lot for a company.

  • Vera Cruz is Very Cool - 2007 Hyundai Veracruz

Bought our 2007 Vera Cruz Limited about 4-5 years ago and we now have almost 200,000 miles on it and it still drives & rides like a dream. Its our first SUV and we absolutely love it. The engine still doesnt use any oil and still has plenty of power & torque. Only trouble weve had with ours is we had to replace the AM/FM CD radio because it began to drain the battery after shutting the car off because the cd player would continue to run...the radio-CD player still worked fine but for some reason it just kept turning inside and would drain the battery. Upgraded with a new Boss Radio system and my wife is happy again. I offered to trade it in and get her another vehicle but she chose to keep the Vera Cruz and I think we made a good decision. Why Hyundai decided to discontinue this model in favor for the smaller Sante Fe is a mystery to me?

I purchased this vehicle in the FWD Model and not the AWD version. It is horrible in the snow, I had other FWDs and they blew this vehicle away. It gets stuck with just a dusting of snow. It also hydroplanes on the Interstate with just a little rain. The divers side window would not go up and had to go abck to dealership to correct the problem. The brake rotors had to be ground down to get rid of the shimming when the brakes were applied. I am very disappointed at the 29,000 dollar vehicle. i am getting rid of it to get something I can feel safe driving.

  • A Hyundai Believer! - 2007 Hyundai Veracruz

Love our Veracruz! We bought our 07 Veracruz limited used in 08 with 2k miles. We now have 113k miles and still love the comfort, drive, and mileage (22mpg combined). Other than a couple recall notices early in our ownership, the only problem we have had was a head gasket line leak, which allowed oil into the alternator, leaving us stranded. Since that problem was resolved, our Veracruz has been trouble free again, with only normal maintenance. It is still very comfortable for long trips and still has a quiet cabin. When it is time to purchase another vehicle, we will most likely buy Hyundai again, as we have been pleased with the quality and value compared to competitors.
